As soon as Mad World came on I knew that this was the end for him, and i shed a tear, I can admit that..

I knew it was the end for him the moment he ran out of shotgun shells. I still don't understand what "good" his sacrifice brought. Yeah, he killed a bunch of Lambent, but he also took all the fuel with him.

I was really sad when that happened.

The only thing I didn't get was why didn't he bail out the truck early, and let physics do the rest. Everyone knows stuff doesn't just instantly stop. Honestly though, I knew he'd die from the chapter start since it was called brothers to the end, and no one else is essentially a brother.
Also had an inkling from the start of the game during the dream sequence. You play with dead characters at that part (A Carmine, B Carmine), along with Dom, so it was kind of the 'dead squad'. That's how I saw it anyways.

I and my Fiance had to hold back the tears . I knew it was going to happen but it still kinda hits you after playing Gow 1 and 2 with him .

I too wonder why he didnt bail or use a snub or other means of causing the explosion.

I was upset to see Dom die. He grew on me this game and after reading the latest GOW novel Coalitions End I started to like Dom more so I was saddened to see him die and it felt weird not having him around in the final 2 acts of the game. I kind of figured he was going to die especially with that chapter being titled "Brothers to the end".

To be honest, I was calling this since the game was announced. I didn't think it would be in the middle of the game. I thought he would sacrifice himself at the end so that the rest of the squad could get out while something big happened, but the way they did it was amazing, yet truly saddening.

Dom was my favorite character, and I knew he would bite the dust.

I figured at the "final battle" of the game it would be Delta squad: Marcus, Cole, Baird, and Dom
But after I saw that I was an extremely sad panda.

Dom dieing got to me as well. Even though I saw it coming a million miles away. Playing through all three games got me somewhat attached to the character and losing him felt like losing a friend. :P My hair on the back of my neck stood up through out the whole scene.

He wasn't doing it just to save them, he wanted to die. To return to Maria and the kids hence why he put his COG tags on the statue and screamd "I'm coming back Maria" before driving in to the barrells

the fuel tanker was leaking anyway dizzy said so they were gonna leave it anyway

IT was obvious that Dom was ready to go be with his wife and kids after him kneeling at the grave site. I knew right then he wouldnt last much longer.

Sorry but the attempt at emotion in this game was pretty sad. I literally laughed at this part it was so corny much like the rest of the story.

Ok, this is how it should have happened. you should have had clay carmine and dom go with you to one the mission and have you choose or something like that.

When Mad World started, that really got to me. But the waterworks started when Marcus yells "DOM, NOOO!!!" Too much for me.

As soon as he dropped the shotgun, I knew he would die. Very sad ending for a great character.

I knew he was going to die after I read the psychological evaluation in the first chapter of the game. ( It's a collectible.)

Dom lost his Parents, his kids on E-Day, and had to kill his own wife to end her pain. And because he couldn't find her in time he feels like he's responsible. With that much guilt piled on you've gotta imagine that he was just searching for an excuse to die. There's always hints towards that in the books. Killing himself to save his friends must've been the catharsis he'd been longing for.

I was saddened by it too. Not just because he was my favorite character, but dude seemed like he was coming around. After he "talked" to maria and put his cog tag on the statue i thought "Holy sh!t, this is it". After he sacrificed himself and I continued playing the campaign it just didn't feel right. Marcus without Dom is like cornflakes without the milk.

EDIT: I have thought of that scene several times while at work for know reason and each time i thin "Dam...".
