Default MOD Response Requested. Looking for lost Beta Achievements.

I would really like to see an official confirmation on what's going on here. I also took part in the Gears beta and had many unlocked items, now they're all gone and not a word from Epic about the issue. Any mods paying attention to this? Is there going to be any kind of give back for those of us that have lost all that time spent playing the beta? Did I basically buy Bulletstorm for nothing? (the game wasn't that great, fun for awhile, but not great.)

How about some info, any response on being aware of the issue and what you're doing to fix it would be appreciated.

All of the beta unlocks were tied to your BETA save game file. Not the Beta download itself.

If you erased your save file, you erased your unlocks.

EPIC wiped cleans all knowledge of player stats unlocks, levels, time played etc, from the servers.

There is no getting your beta unlocks back

I too lost mine, as my old 360 HDD corruted when my xbox RRoD on me.

I had ALL the unlocks, bt what can you do?

Our game save was OUR responsibilty, so we cant really cry and moan about it, when its our fault we lost it (whether intentional or not). That is what back up USB devices are for.

Not necessarily, my entire HDD corrupted when my 360 RRoD'ed. If you have only a cpl files that are damaged no biggie. Transfer ALL your gears 3 data to a usb first, then swap your HDD's....

I bought the Epic edition Bullet Storm to get the unlocks and I'm not getting any help what so ever with them not unlocking!

Ill be absolutely disgusted this is the case especially after buying the new Gears slim line console bundle and loosing the date through corruption, this isn't my fault. Plus no where does it say you had to keep your data. Epic have to do some thing about this.

It was stated from the beginning (in fact, beforehand) of the beta that you need to keep your beta player data file in order to get your beta unlocks. Without this file, there is no other way of getting your beta unlocks. Knowing from the start that this file was needed, if I were you and was getting a new Xbox I would have backed up that file to a USB stick.

The bottom line is that we were all warned to keep that file and without it you won't get beta unlocks. Period.

And those that say "I deleted it because I needed space" doesn't really fly because the beta itself could be deleted, just not that file which is only 65KB and takes up virtually no space.

There was no information via the Beta itself about the Beta Unlocks being tied to a Save File on the console.
Would also like to ask, is Epic honestly telling us that despite the fact that the Unreal 3 Engine being the most popular middleware engine in this generation of consoles, as well as having 3 difference fanchises of their own Bulletstorm, Gears of War and Unreal Tournament 3 being financially successful; that they didn't have enough money to have dedicated servers PLUS server-side statistic handling? especially when the statistics file in question is 64Kb? Because if that is the case then Sir I am calling bull****, because I can bloody afford that and I'm not a multi-million dollar game development company with regular royalty income.

Especially when you consider the fact that the save file is Console Locked, which Microsoft only allows you to transfer licenses ONCE every 6 months between consoles. Where-as something Server-Side that was linked to a Gamertag would be available regardless of where you go... let's say for example you want to go to your mates house and play as Thrashball Cole, oh wait no you can't cause it's console locked.

You can take the high-ground and sound all mighty about how awesome you are for keeping a file because Epic made a note of it in some obscure twitter or website blog 8 months ago or such; but the reality is most of us aren't anal enough to remember info like that or go hunting for it. So you can say "It's all your fault for loosing the information" or "That you should never have changed console to your new Gears 3 Special Edition" or even "You should never have corrupted your data" but the reality is that Epic SHOULD have saved this information server-side making ALL of this a non-issue.

He's right. When I got into the beta, I didn't think to go to the forums; I wouldn't have unless I found a problem, which is what you're supposed to do in a beta; go to the forum and report it. I didn't think to scour the internet for information. All I knew was that I played the beta when there was an unlock available for something in the full game. When the beta ended, being conscious of the space available, I deleted the entire beta folder, and said, "Well, I won't be needing this anymore." If they had mentioned from within the beta that this save file was extremely important, this might not have been an issue. But because some people said it on a forum that I don't check, or because some people Tweeted it from a site that I don't visit because I hate it, everybody can say, "You were warned." Warned would have been to put the warning on the front page of the beta. I made sure to play and unlock everything from the beta, and I do still think I'm entitled to all the stuff I lost.
