    Default Remove the new "Man up rule" from Execution/Warzone - Epic is fixing it!!

    The "Man Up Rule" removes stalemates in Execution/Warzone if one team has more players alive than the other.

    Epic's addition of the "man up rule" ruins the impetus of the team in the lead to hunt down the weaker one.

    This rule forces both teams to basically play super conservatively and to create "grenade fortresses" and attempt to bore the other team into striking first. When the first player is lost the man up team has no reason to even attack the man-down team. They can just sit in their grenade fortresses and time out the game for the win.

    This turn of events was likely put into place to degenerate Execution/Warzone and force all elimination players to play Team Death Match.

    I propose Epic fix this problem immediately before they kill off Gears's 2 oldest running gametypes.

    In a way I agree but won't know till i've actually experienced it myself.

    Also, with Execution and Warzone now being only 3 rounds long(from what i've heard) i'm a bit worried for GoW3.

    execution and warzone were supposed to be untouched. but if this stays in the game then Epic lied to us.

    sounds like a terrible rule to me, il be playing team death match anyways, in the beta it was amazing and way better then execution or warzone. 3 rounds for exection/warzone sounds like a waste of time waiting for match making anyways.

    Why the hell do so many people have a problem with this?

    If someone's entire team is wiped out, and they spend the rest of the match just running away and hiding (which I see a lot of), not only does it waste time, but that ending in a stalemate is just stupid. The other team has more people alive, therefore, they should have that win.

    Ok that's called tactics. Stalemating something out takes SKILLS ... BIGTIME. IMO stalemating a round on 5v1 is almost as hard as clutching.

    If you think this rule is fine...you must not play this gamemode as much as the ppl in here that hate the rule tbh.

    Execution is my most played mode, and I've always hated stalemates. If a team has more people alive when the time runs out, they should get the win. I also don't care how much skill it takes to do that, it's a waste of time and just drags the match out.

    So you're saying that if the other team has 4 people and you have 2... you agree with the idea they can all camp/hide and you have to bumrush them to even the score or kill them to have any chance? Do you realize that having a couple competent people on a team means that hiding in the most advantageous terrain spots + assigning certain people to lancer/hammer/retro while others shotgun if the bumrushers get too close = easy win all the time?

    The only answer I see is "Always be out of cover, wait for the other team to move, kill one then go hide and you win". Or maybe... "man up and if you're that good just be the aggressor and go kill them all anyways". Who is really going to do that if you're trying to win.. the best % chance of you to win is to go hide and make them come to you... it's always been that way... that's why the team with only 1 or 2 left have to go hide... to try and bring the chances back to even. Now if you're a man-down, you've all but instantly lost the match. Not to mention the standard 'sit around for 3 full minutes staring at other team until the clock has 20 seconds then bumrush' strategy that will be executed by a vast majority of non-strategic players.

    Remove it already.

    I don't play execution at all, well at least since gow 1, and the arguments seem credible. It seemed perfect in GOW2...

    I haven't played yet but there are points to be made for each...I get how the rule can force one person to charge against a full team, but it's also true that the person who is the last guy could hide and just wait for 3 minutes or longer. There's logic in both points.

    Personally, I think I'll like it because...first just logically, if you killed more of them than they killed of you, you should win. Second...while I said there are points on both sides, in my own experience I find it MUCH more common that the person who outnumbered (especially when he is the last guy left) will hide and wait and camp with frags or something, or he'll run and run and run for the full duration of the round. This in my opinion was ALWAYS the biggest problem on Ruins. There are so many places to hide and every other round there are FOUR frags. I've had soooo many stalemates on that map because the last guy alive so frequently just runs, hides, or both. I played a game of warzone on Ruins once that last over 45 minutes...it had something like 7 stalemates, more than one of which was the result of somebody just doing laps around the map. The man up rule is aimed at stopping this, and I think that's great.


    And also, to someone who posted later in the thread...warzone/execution are 5 rounds in ranked and 3 in social i think...something like that. But ranked is still 5, so we've been told many times.

    Can you confirm that is 5 rounds?

    Clearly you have not been playing alot of Gears of War - Is all about the hunt - And if one guy escapes 2,3,4 or 5 opponents... He's the man.. And a stalemate is fine.. You get an extra round!?!

    The problem is that it promotes camping. Say it's a 5 on 5 match and my team kills 3 of the other guys right off the bat. It's now 5 on 2 and we have ZERO incentive to go kill the remaining 2 players. We could get power weapons and just camp up for the automatic win.

    In the past, you had to hunt those last few guys down to get the win and EARN it.

    That pretty much sums up why i'm against this rule.
    Get a couple of kills,camp up and let time run down and you get the win. In execution/warzone you are supposed to kill the other team. If you don't kill them all you shouldn't get the win.

    What's even more sad is that TDM was made only with execution rules. I love TDM but hate Warzone rules. Why couldn't we have TDM Warzone and TDM Execution?

    Have to say this sounds bad but i wont know until i try it myself. Sure hope if we say we dont want it enough they can fix it right away but i guess we will see

    definitely should remove this stupid rule

    if there is 1 player left on one team and they manage to survive and take out 3 of the opposing team in a 5 v 1 but time runs out and they lose then that is bull****

    rules for winning warzone or execution are YOU MUST ELIMINATE ALL MEMBERS OF THE OPPOSING TEAM

    I would rather keep the classic gametypes to left to be as they were. The only few old school playlists left that I play (warzone & execution) are to be changed for the worse with this new "man up rule"

    it probably won't be a big of a deal.. we got the tools to stop campers. i think people still got that Gears 2 mentally and don't realise that Gears 3, is totally different.. let's give it a try

    4v3 with a game tied 4-4 ... The other team Wasting torqes ... Just getting by and holding ground to stalemate and not letting the enemy push. That is EXCITING in two full parties.

    Stalemates can be an adrenaline rush just like a victory or a clutch. If its tons of rounds yes it gets annoying...but sometimes is really blood pumping.

    Yeah that's a silly rule so far as I'm understanding it. Have to play it. If I'm a team of 1 and there are 3 or 4 guys left and they just hide and I lose cause they won't come out and fight, then that's just sad. I shouldn't be penilized if they camp with nades and all that. They should have it count down. When it's 1 vs 3 (and more) the team with 3 plus should have a guy killed after every minute and a half or something. Until it's just a 1 vs 1. At least it would keep them trying to win the game. And have them explode like a nade so anything they have planted nearby would blow up too. LOL.

    Please don't promote more camping and slow gameplay. May as well have the person glitch out of the map as was the norm in Gears 2. That makes me more mad than anything.

    i don't have any problem with the new rule 2v1 or 3v2 a win is a win maybe cause i just despise people forcing stalemate as part of a strategy
