Issues with Chrome Weapon Unlocks (timestamps are needed?)

So a couple friends of mine got copies of Gears 3 early. I asked them if their unlocks worked ok and they both were missing 1 chrome weapon. One was missing the chrome retro (domination achievement) and the other was missing the chrome hammerburst (dirty dirty horde achievement). The problem is they both have those achievements. We did a little research and realized that both of them unlocked every chrome weapon who's achievement was TIMESTAMPED. While one friend unlocked the chrome retro (his domination was timestamped) the other did not (his wasn't). Same thing for their respective chrome hammerbursts.

Did Epic ever say you had to have timestamps on the chrome weapon achievements? I would think no considering most of the chrome achievements (especially those 2) were probably mostly done offline. Or maybe this is a known issue and Epic is working on an update for it. Anyway I figured I'd let you all know. And as of TU1 they still will not unlock correctly.

I already posted this thread in the main Gears of War 3 section, but I figure if its here it has a better chance of being seen and looked into.

You don't need the timestamp. The update should've fixed all of the unlocks. All I can say is your friends should've waited until the 20th.

It only fixed the beta unlocks and made the VG change. Waiting until the 20th doesn't affect the chrome unlocks since it checks the achievements once a day anyway. All the other ones they had (with timestamps) unlocked perfectly fine. The only people that needed to wait until the 20th were people who cared about the VG unlocking all 5 gold weapons, if you could unlock them by the other means you still got them all regardless.

I did not receive the Dirty Dirty Horde unlock but after updating to the TU1 It unlocked. The other achievement Domination unlocked at first. The only difference was one had a time stamp and the other didn't. So this update probably fixed that.

Hm, that's interesting. I guess we'll find out soon enough.

All of my proper unlocks are there now. I was only missing the beta ones which unlocked after the Title Update.

I don't have Domination or Don't Hate the player but my other unlocks worked fine. Got the VG unlock after TU1. Your friends should unlock eventually...

Joe Graf specifically said that "playing the game early will mess with your unlocks" he actually changed the name of someones thread and made it that about a week ago.

Same with me. Only one that didn't. Possible glitch, possible miss.....let's hope they fix it or it unlocks later.

Same here. Got the title update before I pressed start, but the only weapon I didn't unlock was the Chrome Retro because my Domination doesn't have a timestamp.

My issue is with the Sawed Off skin for Beta Week 4. I believe that is a chrome skin as well. I definitely was playing this game until the last day and had the skin for sawed off checked off in the beta. I have the skins for the first 3 weeks of beta but not the fourth.

I don't use the sawed off, but it's annoying that I earned it and don't have it...

Same here. Unlocked everything else, but had no timestamp on Domination. Shame, I love my chrome hammerburst. Would love to have the chrome retro. I'm sure they will be looking into this as it seems to be a very common issue.

well i got the dirty dirty horde achievement and waited a whole day and still nothing but for some reason i got the crimson omens retro lancer as soon as i got the beastly medal

I had an issue with the chrome gnasher not unlocking. For some reason Gears 1 did not register as finished. I played through the campaign again and let the credits finish, still nothing. 3rd time I played through the campaign as 2nd player with my buddy and today it unlocked. Very weird, but it worked. My point is, when in doubt with the unlocks, repeat the process for achieving them. Worked for me.

If you got it offline, then that may have been the cause. Try again and this time, do it while connected to Xbox live. Fulfill the achievement requirements. You can also try to do it in an online game but there really is no point when you can do it in private.
