I support. I don't know if this has already been said, but who ever has the flag shouldn't be allowed to roadie run. My 2 cents.

Either they should be able to shoot but not roadie run, or they can roadie run without being able to shoot.

I would love to see a capture the flag gametype but...
I have two problems I can see with it...
1) The nature of capture the flag i.e. people will quit and if you don't have a full team you are almost gaurenteed to lose...something that is not fun for most people.
2) I have seen and have participated in ctf games that have been as short as 2 minutes. That is absurdly short. CTF games will make the already overpowered 5 man teams into supergods...as a Halo player who plays at a very high level I have never beaten a party of 4 in a CTF gametype with less than a party of 3...I have also never lost a game of CTF when running with a full 4 man team. It would be the same way in gears.

Both your point can be pointed towards any game mode, ranked starts with full teams. KOTH is another mode which requires extreme teamwork, its all up to the players skill levels.

I'm all in for CTF. I love playing it on mw3, so I would enjoy it more on gears. :3

Never played halo, don't like it, always a gear head. This mode is what this game has left to add, every other mode is good and works. CTF is a team game mode, so playing it on cod doesn't compare to this, me myself will slaughter the enemy team and cap easily in cod, why? Because that game is for lone wolfing, gears is all about your team, in execution if your one or two men down you feel the heavy weight on your shoulders, but in cod search and destroy I know ill kill the other team by myself, 1v6.

If one or two players are doing satisfactory or poor then your team as a whole suffer, because its a TEAM game, I could go on all day as to why CTF will play differently and better on gears, CTF is supposed to be team based but other games ruin it with their game style, gears just has this beautiful flow.

I play halo so I guess I'll describe it...It's a really fun gametype...like really fun it's a blast the problem is you will occaisionally come into contact with parties of 4 and the match lasts about 30 seconds and you lose...In like team slayer it is possible for randoms to beat a party of 4 but in ctf it's nigh impossible. Thats the 1 problem with CTF other than that though it's one of the best gametypes

CTF as others have said can be fast sometimes but that's true of ANY game type in which you can face a superior team. Play Guardian against a full, organized team and your leader will be dead in 30 seconds or less. I don't think that's a knock against Guardian or CTF. I think it goes to show that it's a strong team based game type that requires skill and teamwork.

Exactly, the more skilled and better in communication will obviously win more easily, its like that for many game modes, in TDM the numbers drop so fast if the other team is way better, its like 15,14,13,12 lol and before you know it your on your last lives.

Oh wow just found out about this thread. This is a long discussion. Won't read everything obviously, just wanted to say I support the idea and with Guardian back I wouldn't mind seeing Capture the Leader replaced with a true CTF mode.

The other day I was playing Horde and got a glitched Cleaver, which had no "ammunition" was just basically a paperweight, kinda like Jace's bat in RAAM's Shadow. Made me think of this. If it worked where you didn't flinch/were slightly slower or couldn't Roadie Run quickly, kinda like a Savage Theron in Horde or "running" while a character is speaking on comms in Campaign, think it would be legit.

Zeta rules would actually make an interesting twist, methinks. Can see people complaining/scapegoating HB/RL campers along with stopping power.

Gears of War is a team game though. That's why CTF would be perfect since it requires lots of teamwork.

CTF has been around since the dawn of FPS games (likely since before you were born). COD had NOTHING to do with Capture the Flag.
