A downloadable content release for Epic Games' Gears of War 3, out September 20, is a foregone conclusion. Now though, Microsoft is offering super-fans a chance to pre-purchase a large chunk of it for a good value, thanks to the newly announced Season Pass.
Available the same day the game is released, the Gears of War 3 Season Pass entitles buyers to the game's first four DLC releases for 2400 MS Points, a 33 percent savings. The first DLC pack is arriving in November, with the other three rolling out "over the course of the next year."
All Season Pass buyers will also receive a bonus DLC pack, the Liquid Metal Weapon Set, which presumably allows you to paint your guns so that they look like a T-1000.

TL,DR version- The day the game launches, you can buy the pass, which in turn gets you the 4 packs as well as the Liquid metal weapon skin pack. The packs will launch sometime later and will be cheaper if bought using the pass, compared to individually

* To clarify. You pay 2400msp for the season pass, which in turn allows you to download the 4 packs. The 33% saving amounts from buying them in bundle, as a one off payment, instead on individually.

Season Pass is 4 DLCs. A mix of Campaign, MP and Horde/Beast. Season Pass just offers them up at a discounted price.
