A lot of my stuff is long lost, but this is something I've been working on.

    Nar---Darkness Rises, people fall
In his hands, he holds the call
Whether they live, whether they die

He did not choose, they chose him
To hold these powers in his palms
That can kill or can heal

    Will he let darkness enter
    Or light lead his heart?
    What will be his choice?

    And if darkness wins
    God help us all
    If he follows the call
    Man will forever fall

Nar---This is the poem my father would always read to me. I, as most people would, thought it was just some tale. When I was younger, and my mother hadn’t mysteriously died yet, this poem used to give me nightmares, But by the time I turned 13, I could quote the whole poem, so my father stopped reading it. I still thought was a tale until the day I turned 18.

This is part of the opening for my current project.

    Hello there,

What positions are currently open, and which are closed? What positions do you need filling, and what roles/jobs could do with more people?

Hello, my name is Dana Willoughby and I am interested in a possible position as a Level Designer for your project. It looks very interesting and I think I might be able to help you with a bit more then level design at times as I can model in 3DSMax, texture in Photoshop, storyboard, on top of the level design skills I have achieved over the past 12 years. My website is www.gottamakegames.com if you interested in taking a look at my work. If you decide you would be able to use my services on your team contact me at danawilloughby@gottamakegames.com and I will reply as soon as possible.

    Thanks

Great to hear back from you Dana I was wondering what happened to you but it looks like we should be able to connect in the next couple of days.
Mike, in terms of positions that are open, we are definitely looking for more 3D modelers(character and general modelers in specific) and a video editor to work on our promo material

    Thumbs up New goodies

A LOT of progress has been going on so far this month. We've filled all of our Lead positions which is a huge step forward for us as a Studio as we can start to organize our operations more and more akin to that of an AAA studio. Production has been steaming forward full tilt with our code base topping 10,000 lines and 100's more 2D and 3D assets being completed. Right now we're looking high and low, far and wide for a video compositor/editor to work with us on promotional material so if you know of anyone by all means let me know! We've also chosen on a name and our project's website is coming together so stay tuned for that as there'll be some big announcements regarding the website and our marketing push in the next couple of weeks!

There was a question asked about open positions. Right now our focus is on finding a video editor to start putting together promo material with us. Outside of that we are definitely still open to animators and 3D artists.

Here's the new pieces of art that have gone onto the Original post including an in-game render of one of our environments.

When i say -Adobe package- actually i mean Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Soundbooth (but personally i more like Stainberg Nuendo to use for sound editing) and with a lot of plugins for this soft.s . Also i would like to mention my acknowledge in Illusion soft n Ulead. 3D Max naturally, Mudbox mhmmmm a little less natural UDK,, unfortunately ,,,now u supposed to read words from an 98% noob in UDK , but who learning fast
    Ughhhh let me finish

    Interested ,,, yes of course

I think on my page u can find my skype n mail (skype is the best thing how we can be in touch coz i checking my mail only when someone tell me to do that, this kind of junk probably u r never seen)
Best regards n many luck for ya.

New content posted up today. We've had a couple of our environmental 3D guys get pulled away to real life(hell one of them decided he didn't he wanted to find a more stable career ffs) so we are on the search again for talented 3D artists who specialize in making real time environments. We aer also still searching high and low for a video editor so if you fall in either of these two categories by all means give me a shout and I'd love to discuss having you come and work with the biggest and best run indie teams around!

We've had great response so far but we are still looking for some more 3D artists to come on board, both environmental and generalist. For smoe reason they are the hardest to find and the hardest to keep.

    Hellow Ironbelly!!
    Sorry for not replying soon.
Indeed I have studied UDK for three years.
However, in that three years, sometimes I stop using UDK, because of difficulty of unreal script.
But now I constantry use it and got some knowledge of that's script and kismet.
So my UDK skill rank is....

Script 4/10(I just study basic skill of script, so most scripts are come from UDK thread. )
    Kismet 7/10
    Lighting 5/10
Adding AI 6/10 (I usually place pathnode and activate bots with using kismet)
3D modeling 4/10 (Because I usually use preset model and only use 3d app it to rig it .)
Level design 7/10 (I'm not familier with terrerian but familier with making some industrial places.)
UI 6/10 (I just bought adobe flash and photoshop, so I'm studying action script and cool UI stuff.)

Anyway, I am making my game project and in near future, I want to to work in foreign game studio.
    I'm waiting for your reply.
    Thanks.

Because I'm particular about what we show to the world. The 'bum' static images are ready to be shown to the public, our in-game footage isn't quite there yet and so it'll be kept under wraps for a little longers

Yeah well given this "project" has been in the works for over a year and you still have yet to show anything other than concept art, doesn't bode well.

I'll do my best to refrain from baiting a troll here but to answer your concern I would have to point out that 90%+ of projects here who do have in-game shots to show end up going no where so I would hardly use that as a measuring stick for the progress or health of a project. Not to say that they aren't important to gauge the progress of a project but it's hardly the end-all be-all and the way we operate is such that I'd rather refine our final product to be as accurate of a representation of our final product than to just throw it out there ASAP to re-assure skeptics of our progress

The project itself has only been in full gear since August as it took us a few months or real pre-production and team building to get to a point where we began operating as a well oiled machine with a core group of some 25 individuals, complimented by 10-15 other members with less time on their hands to contribute. Either way, what we have accomplished and the professional manner in which we operate is enough that we've been able to attract and keep some of the most talented artists, from all disciplines, more than a few of them industry vets who've held senior positions at AAA studios.

Bottom line is we're kicking ass and if you are a skilled, passionate and experienced individual that wants to work with one of the most professionally run and well organized indie dev teams around then we're your ticket and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Quite a few calls for ‘in-game’ footage recently. Not that we are the sort of team that bows to pier pressure, but Iornbelly do expect to be releasing game play footage at the end of January in our monthly showreel update.

We hope ALL the material we show is well received, whether that’s 2D, 3D or some slammin’ music!

It's a lot of foundational work to produce what we have in mind and even then we've always stressed that the the scope of this project will always be kept to a bare minimum.. that being said it is amazing how much bloody work actually goes into creating even a scaled down and simple FPS experience that is compelling and exciting, plus putting in the business and organizational structure to support the efforts of the 30+ people needed to produce it. There is a snow ball effect though when you reach a certain point where things really start all coming together at once and that's what we are seeing right now.

Thanks for that, appreciate the comments for sure. We are building up one of the most amazing indie teams around and very soon we are going to have something incredible to show this world. It's like an avalanche at this point, the momentum is reaching epic proportions and we are plowing through an incredible amount of work.. I'd say in an average week right now we are doing 3-4 times the amount of work we were doing 1 month ago. Between the passionate indies and the passionate industry vets we have on board this ship I see a alpha or a beta release just on the horizon.

Hey man, thanks for the interest.. We use web2project as our PMS.. www.web2project.net.
it's an offshoot of dotproject for any PM geeks who've been around for a while.. Some of the core members broke off a couple years ago after dotproiject development stagnated and started this.. It's an amazing piece of software and I honestly couldn't do what I do without it

Well it certainly is the best that I've used, although I've been fairly particular with my needs so I haven't tried things like basecamp and the like. But it's open sourced, I can set it up on my own server and control all aspects of it, and it's very powerful.. It doesn't have the same glossy shine that some of these more professional packages does but it's incredibly powerful in the right hands. It's the only way I can manage the sized teams that I have

Hey Ironbelly, I want to be honest here, the music sounds good and professional, but to me it lacks soul and that PUNCH needed, in my opinion, but it is still very good.

Hey Ryan. Its Jayesh, You contacted me through coroflot a while ago and we had a few emails exchanged today. I can say I am really impressed with some of the concept work. You said you wanted me to be part of the team, which I am very happy to do. I do of course teach but I have lots of free time to devote to this very exciting project.

I have a variety of skills which you may want to make use of:

    -General Concept work
-Character Artist/Designer (modelling and texturing using 3ds max/photoshop/zbrush/mudbox)
-Environmental Artist/Designer (modelling and texturing using 3ds max/photoshop/Unreal Editor)
    -I also enjoy creating assets/objects.

My passion is within character creation but I am also accomplished in Unreal Editor.

    Get back to me!

    p.s.

You can check some of my work HERE

Also I do tutorials for 3ds max and unreal if you want to check em out then head over to http://3dstep.co.uk
