Wink What I be warkin' on.~

Elloello!~ This isn't a place to introduce myself, so I'll be brief. I am a girl gamer, but I am also a girl gamer who wishes to get into the game design industry. I haven't been on a real Gears streak lately... In fact, I'm not even sure if I have been on one at all... BUT, I made this first piece like... A year or two ago...? Two, I think, and I've always liked it.

    I-will-eat-you
To my friends, it's called the 'I-will-eat-you', or the more popular 'I-will-kill-you', but as for me... I never even gave this thing an official name. Woe is me.

It was taken by my camera. I DO have a scanner, but I didn't have it on me at the time (Pfft, I won't carry it around even if you paid me.), and i have NO clue where the picture is anymore.

The top text is what I could have it do..
One was drag a fallen gear away from anyone who could save him (While if two got together on one Gear, they could split him in half.)
It was NOT mountable, but more like a war hound. (It's pretty sizable, though.)
It would be highly curious, to the point that it would pay more attention to some falling rubble than a still gear.
A grenade would be able to stun it for a short length of time.
Back to the attention thing, it would run faster if a Gear was running from it, rather than just standing and shooting.

    Uhm... I forgot the rest.~

    RIFTER

"All Rifters have a set of wings that have 2 fingers, and as stated before, they have 2 antennae. If they are on the ground, they can sense vibrations through the earth, and air. Sound waves included in the vibrations. A normal Rifter can tell you when something is coming. A well practiced Rifter can tell you how many total. An expert one can even tell you what type of creature is above you, and the exact amount of each. Rifters who stay in the sky more than the land can predict air currents and weather accurately.

All have a set of strong back legs to launch themselves in the air, and they typically walk on all fours.
There are different kinds of Rifters, each with 'jobs' they were meant to do. Glider Rifters fly above most other creatures, and you can consider them the snipers, or spotters of the sky. They have much larger wings than any other class, and lankier bodies. A side-class of the Glider is the Assault, who boasts longer wings than it's cousin, which causes them to out-fly them in speed. They tend to dive-bomb targets, and hunt them down within a short time frame.
Now the basic Rifter is the jack of all trades. They fly and run well, and they have nice strength. Then comes their side-class, which are basic Rifters, only mini. Bantams are ground scouters, and they use their small size to their advantage.

The final 2 are ground orientated, with one not being able to fly at all. Hunters are the Assaults of the ground, they excel at fast land travel, however, they can still fly in emergencies. The last class is a Burrower Rifter, and they make the caves in the Rifter's hideaway. They are strong, lumbering giants, with strong claws and arms.

All forms refuse to be tamed by locust, however, with time and patience, they will trust humans. There aren't many captive ones, but the few that are make to be very excellent partners on the battlefield."

Oh, I have 4 Rifter characters myself, already.
-My main one is Royale, a BEAST of an average rifter, nearly double the size and able to take down a Brumak (2 or 3 are needed for average size Rifters). He's more deadly on land than in the air, but he is a massive threat to everyone on any front. His 'scales' have a very copper hue. His rider is, well, I haven't a name for her.
-Nuke, whom is partially lambent, is swift, deadly, and absolutely bonkers. He can breathe that odd imulsion stream, or lob a ball of it at a great distance. He's the suicide-bomber of the squad. His rider is named Nick (Forgot what I gave him for a last name...).
-Then we have Reign, a smokey grey colored Rifter whose wings are meant for riding air currents with little effort. The thing that makes him a threat are the two specially designed troika's that hang off his neck and shoulders. His rider was never named.
-And finally, we have a 'bantam' sized, albino Rifter named Medic. He does the obvious, he lugs around the medical equipment. As an albino, he's a soft yellow color with pinkish purple 'scales'. His rider was a surgeon, previously. Also, name forgotten.
    - I created a new Bantam Rifter named Pepper, he's mainly a community Rifter, to be used by anyone at any time. He has no main 'rider' due to this, but Royale's rider will take him out now and then if Royale would be more of a nuisance than an aid. Pepper has the basic 'locust' coloration.

All of the Rifters 'names' are really their nicknames. Their names are made up of 2 words, and can have a pun to them.
    Royal: Battle Royale
    Nuke: Nuklear Warfare
    Reign: Bullet Reign
    Medic: Mad Medic
    Pepper: Pepper Spray

So, kind of like the Locust equivalent of a wild wolf? Pretty interesting, actually. How does it feed on Kryll, though?

I like the design. Looks vaguely Australian, and Australian = f*cking scary.
I came up with the Bag 'N Tag idea. No really, check the date. (proof)

I was going to reply earlier, but my computer freaked out. I'm on my psp now.

The hound will eat anything it can catch, and Rifters have primitive wings in which they mostly use to glide.

Australian? Like a marsupial? Guess so.~ Koala-raptor. Yes.

    Nice concept.

I really love wolves so I would initially love a locust counterpart.

Heh, I'll put some updated stuff up soon. I doodled a version of the Rifter, but since it's a doodle, there are some design flaws. Should I post it up anyway, or fix it up nice first?

Wow, looks great! Looks kinda ugly and vicious looking, perfect for the Locust then I'd imagine.

How weird too, girl poison did something similar a while back...

Bet they'd be scary in a pack! I'd imagine them with reflected golden eyes, slinking about in the shadows, moving ever closer to their prey, until the time comes to make the kill.

So yeah, kinda sneaky and clever...

Slightly over a year later, I'm going to update again. XD I just finished Gears 3 with my friend (although I've played on Beast and Horde enough times to be level 29). The ending was a shame for me, I have a Rifter character named Nuke who was part lambent, and he would have perished, as well.

Speaking of my Rifters, I'm pixelling one now, finally. Well, I tried to draw one normally, but the head was never the way I wanted it, and the body proportions always end up being off. Not that i can't pixel, mind you. I know my way around MS Paint like some would photoshop.

Oh, I have 4 Rifter characters myself, already.

(Once the basic template is completed, I'll edit them for each Rifter in my possession. They will include the saddles, body, armor, and weapons of each individual. I will not edit the base itself to show size, but the saddles will give that away enough.)

XD I typed it at the bottom of the first post, but it wasn't much information.
"I have another species I made, called a Rifter, it's rather dragon-like, and uses it's antennae-like protrusions from it's head to sense vibrations and such from the area around it. It wasn't tamed by locust, but still lived in deep trenches in the ground. Usually fed on Kryll. I need to redesign both, really but- Shutting up now.~"

    Lol, now I get it.

Pretty cool too, I like the idea of all kinds of crazy creatures living in the Hollow. Sounds like you've put a lot thought into it, is it part of a fan fiction type thing?

Still liking your line work too, so clean and sharp.

Curious about that curved black guideline looking line that goes from the shoulder to the first wing section, what is that?

'I've thought about making a fanfic with them- I can throw them in almost anywhere, but I never get around to do so. I'd feel... awkward trying to make an awesome fanfiction with my limited knowledge.

    Well, they are pixels. XD

The first wing membrane? A lot of dragons don't have them, but it'd be required for them to fly. Bat's have'em. :3

Limited knowledge, like, of Gears? Hey, if you wanna do it, just do it, limited knowledge or not.

Well, my pixels don't look quite so clean, lol.

I think people are too busy with social networking these days to comment. Sad times.

Yeah, I would be making a large portion of it up, and I'm not sure where I'd even START the thing! Timewise.

They aren't too hard to clean up, depending on your program.~

Then why are they buzzing around the forums? o-O For information, likely?

Bah, lazy bums. Thank you for constantly visiting, though. :3 I really do appreciate it.

I just use MS paint- I've been using it for so many years, it's the simplest program and easiest program for me to use now.

Guess I'm a minority in that I actually like seeing what everyone else is doing, how they did it, and why. I find you can learn from and be inspired by other peoples work. Plus, I think it's important to encourage creative endeavors.

MS Paint? Wow... but hey, whatever works, right?

You should give GIMP a try, who knows, you might even like it.

Mmhmm! It can be amazing how some people do the same thing differently, or do different things the same. I improved one summer not by practicing, but by watching livestreams and people on DA. Was a great year, that. Music, games, heck, everything inspires me! I love to help others move along, as well.

It works wonders, I think! Oh, I have gimp. If i have a large drawing i want pixelated, I use that to make a pixelated layer, then i bring it over to paint to work on it.
