    Thanks for the huge response to the last update! We only need a VFX artist to finish up the game now!


    The team at Strike Games wants a few more people to polish up the last little bits of development! If you have skills, and like what you see in the main thread(or don't and could make it better) then take a look at the job openings below! All of these jobs are through the internet, so don't worry about commute, or hours. Many of the artists that work with us say we're the best group they've ever worked with; positions are very low obligation - but can be long term, as long as you are interested. Strike Games presents an excellent opportunity if you've got skills, and are looking for some experience or a start in the game industry.

    MARCH 2012 UDK is the current version used by all staff - you must not have any version higher(when available), and should preferably have the March 2012 version or another version from within the past 3 months.








    Particle and VFX Artist - OPEN
    We require an artist to create additional particle effects for Final Rush, including such effects as steam vents, explosions, dust clouds, sparks, and distortions. The artist will need to both make the graphics required for the particles(using Photoshop or other preferred program) as well as create and tweak the Particle systems using the UDKs built in Particle Editor. The artist would primarily work with the Design Director at Strike Games to establish the necessary visual style and effects.

    If interested, the artist may be asked to do particle vfx for additional content expansions.

    Statistics:
    • Deadlines: Minimal, mostly just to keep things active and in order.
    • Hours: As many as you need, as long as you can meet the mutually agreed upon deadlines.
    • Location: Work from home via Internet.
    • Communication: Email and Skype text chat.
    • Experience: Experience working with particles required; experience working with Photoshop(or equivalent) and Unreal3 particle systems very strongly recommended. Previous experience working with particle systems for game is a strong bonus.
    • Required Assets: You will need to make or acquire all required assets for particle vfx.

    Web Designer - OPEN
    Strike Games wants a web designer to help create the assets and code for both a corporate website, and a game website for Final Rush.

    Statistics:
    • Deadlines: Minimal, mostly just to keep things active and in order.
    • Hours: As many as you need, as long as you can meet the mutually agreed upon deadlines.
    • Location: Work from home via Internet.
    • Communication: Email and Skype text chat.
    • Experience: Experience creating functional, efficient websites required. Skills with Photoshop (or equivalent) and Flash strongly recommended.
    • Required Assets: You will more-or-less entirely responsible for the creation and occasional maintenance or documentation of a functional and public website.

    Check out the latest open positions... we have openings for Prop and Weapon artists. Both of those openings have concept art to work off of, and are compensated... be sure to email us if you're interested.

    We'll have more job openings in the near future, so as painful as it sounds, keep your eyes peeled.

    Once again, we require a gameplay programmer to help us on the home stretch! Big thanks to Corey Purdy for getting us this far; to anyone else interested - when he becomes available again, we recommend him for your project!

    Updates once again! Not only do we have a new programmer, but we've already updated to the latest (October) build of the UDK from June '11.

    Field testing a new company logo too; please take a look at it, and the available art jobs while you're at it. Right now a skilled hard surface texture artist would really help out the project, so if you, or someone you know is a hard surface texture artist, let us know, or send 'em this way.

    Another update!

    This time, we've updated the position for HUD artist, as we now have a complete concept of the HUD, and just require an artist to turn it into Scaleform... and we've added a new Environment Artist position with some concept art samples that you should take a look at!

    We're making great progress, and we'll be ready to announce a release date and send some videos and ingame pictures your way soon!

    Updated thread with a picture of the new basic soldier model. This model is the basic form of the player character, which you can augment with additional styles of armor plating and helmets. More pictures to follow soon.

    If you're a 3D, Flash, or Scaleform Artist, take a look at the current job openings. The environmental post requires fairly high end examples of work, so if you are a skilled environment artist or know someone who is, go to the main post to see more.

    My only question is how is payment handled. I don't want to know how much you are paying because I have no time for side work at the moment, but I just want to know how you pay these prospective team members.

    In months past, payment was typically made online via PayPal, though we have used several alternate methods depending on the requirements of an employee or contractor - Using environment art as a typical example, a prop would be made, the artist would send pictures, then, assuming the work is satisfactory and doesn't require any changes, payment would be sent, and the artist would send the content files. Payment was always agreed upon before work commenced.

    For contract work, payment is always per-object; never hourly. Sometimes if an asset was particularly large or complicated, or it was a large set of objects, there would be some pre-pay.

    Full disclaimer however: several of the recently posted jobs are 'non-critical' and may follow a different compensation method, and of course the applicants will be fully informed of payment methods beforehand.

    If you are wondering where the money comes from... Strike Games and Final Rush are privately funded by one of the founders of the company; we are working well within budget, with enough to finish the game, and begin work on some of the post-initial-release content.
