How to get (& keep) ALL secret weapons!

Hi, thought we should have a new thread for getting all secret items. I've been playing around with multiple saves (OG, early NG, late NG, BG(backwards or negative game)etc) and believe I have "cracked" the devs categories for secret items. And there is more playing of these saves to find out more.

If you're anything like me, you simply *MUST* have all items lol

I see 3 groups of secret items, which may have subgroups.

Group1 is the "NG" group. This includes the 3 dragoor items, 5 ZM items, obsidian sword, spike ring [10 in total]. You can get these at the NG store. Of course dragoor can be earned even in OG but I still consider in this group because all these items can be bought at ANY time as soon as you are in NG and visit the store.

Group2 is of course the "BG" group. These 5 dark items can only be initially gotten in BG, and they are free yay! Claymore noticed that while you lose these items going from BG back to OG, you can get them back when you then go to NG store! Very exciting find Claymore, well done. We shall find out, but I suspect if you buy them in NG, then go to OG you will keep them as you do all other NG store items.

Group3 is the most mysterious one, my favorite looking purple sword, Shard. I have no idea why but I think this is on its own, as it doesn't fit into the other groups. Starting a new game, going to NG sees all Group1 items in store but NOT the Shard. So it MUST be a separate group all on its own. I don't know what the significance of this is, maybe it has super special abilities that are not obvious yet, or maybe it is something special for another update if one is coming.

The main mystery for me now is how you unlock Shard. I suspect maybe you must beat the GK in NG, I shall find out and if anyone can help that's great. I actually have Shard in my NG10 and NG200+ saves so clearly you can unlock this in NG without needing to go to BG. But when you start a new game then go to NG1, there is no Shard. So maybe it happens at a certain NG level like NG5 or NG10 for example, or maybe it is like IB, unlocked by beating GK.

I shall continue to investigate all the possibilities, especially to end up in NG or back at OG with ALL items possible. If anyone can contribute, this is the thread to do it

final scoop: Okay so there are two ways to end up with all weapons. Up to you which you will do.

Method1:
- Go to NG3 to unlock Shard. Buy Shard and all NG items (except maybe dragoor items as they can be earned in the dungeon).
- Restart to bloodline 1, lose to TDK, to enter BG.
- Go all the way up to BG10. This unlocks the dark items in OG and NG store, and gives you two extra achievements.
- Now you have all the items, in BG. If you like, go back to OG and buy back the dark items that you lose in the departure from BG. Now you have all items in OG. If you go to NG again, the dark items are still in the shop

Method2:
- Go to BG10.
- Switch to OG.
- Work your way up to NG3. Now all weapons are unlocked. Stay in NG mode, or buy all the NG items (incl Shard) before you drop down to OG.

Nice. Given Claymore's findings, I think you'll need to reset to BL1, go to BG, reset to BL1 again, then work your way back up to NG1 and beyond. It's called a waltz

Okay here's more:

OG items
swords: 46
shields: 24
helmets: 28
armor: 7
rings: 18
total: 123

Max items in NG pre visiting BG (thanks for confirming rioskis)
swords: 50
shields: 26
helmets: 29
armor: 8
rings: 21
total: 134

134 includes Shard which we still need to figure out how we unlocked it. rios and I are like bumbling fools who find the gold lol and have no idea how

So there you have it. We have a blueprint to get ALL items. I shall try it and if anyone else does, do please confirm this theory.

From a new game (or restart to BL1): lose to TDK, go to BG. Don't do anything, restart to BL1. Then go to NG. Now ALL should be unlocked except Shard. Do *insert secret here* and then finally you have unlocked shard. Buy all items. Stay in NG, or go back to OG. Now you have all items. Nice

btw max items in total is of course 139 (134 plus the 5 dark items)

i think i found out hot to get the shard, i found it in the shop when i got to NG3 and its not there in NG2, but there was also this achievement of 20 bloodlines when i got to NG3, so, either or/both

Nice work here voice!!! Only when u play BG so play it until u get -10 bloodline to get hidden achievement

then u can restart ir game again and like voice and said: "now u have all items"

Thanks guys, and roger, that is very curious and we should seek to confirm. Good lead! I think it's not for 20 bloodlines, it may be needing to reach NG3.
