    MAP-VCTF VCTF-VM-Scorn

    Name : VCTF-]VM[-Scorn.
    Version : UT2004
    Time work : i stopped count but certainly > 350 h.

    Contest :
    You are playing near the water inside a pump unit. Like the usual, catch and defend the flag are your work.
    Some vehicles (like the manta, scorpion, bender or TheSlyGoliath) can help you or crash you also.

    Problem :
    I 've got feeling, there is something missing.
    If you could give me your feedback (positif or negatif) or idea.

    Any comments about the lighting or the building could be quite good to improve my work.

    A nice map you made there!
    The overall design is really nice, I like this industrial style, it reminds me of UT99 (and that can be just good )

    The (in my opinion) only negative part about the visuals is the sunlight's color. It should be more brownish/orange and not green. This would give the map a better atmosphere. Also the fogring doesn't really fit to the skybox texture. Try to change its color to orange, like the majority of the sky is.

    What concerns the gameplay I would have to test it a bit more and report my observations later

    What green in the skybox ?
    Just grey and orange.
    You are the first man who said i am suck with the skybox.
    I should work on it.


    PS : I love the "(in my opinion)".

    I meant the sunlight, it creates a green light although the skybox seems to be to 80% orange so I guess it would be better to change the sunlight actor's color
    The fogring should also have a color that is more orange instead of the current color.

    I didn't say the skybox sux, I just think you could improve it. The skybox is a big part of the atmosphere and in my opinion the sunlight's color doesn't fit that much to the colorsheme of the skybox

    If you could change this I'd say no need to change anything on the visuals of the map anymore

    Map looks really nice from the screenshots man. Good job. I would imagine orangeish sunlight as well, then gree might throw things off a bit.

    Why do I never see vehicles on showcase screenshots of VCTF maps?
    Our Loop, which art in source code, hallowed be thy keyword.
    Thy condition come, thy instruction be done, in RAM as it is in cache.
    Increment us this day our daily counter,
    and forgive us our typos, as we also have forgiven our compilers.
    And lead us not to the nullpointer but deliver us from bugs.
    For thine is the API, the GUI, and the CLI while(true).

    Please don't send me questions about how to do something in the UDK via PM. That is better discussed in the forums and we only have limited PM storage.

    you can see (a little bit) the vehicles in the first series of pics.
    For the second series, it just show the difference with the skybox.

    But, you are certainly right.
    I don't show more the vehicles. problably because, i think that 's not necessary.

    But, why do you want that I show more the vechicles ?

    Thumbs up Good VCTF map!

    Cool atmosphere and visuals. Like the pipes, lifts, trims and vehicle choice (can't live without vehicles, that would be great if you and your teammates can use them!), bots can't use Sly.'s Goliath at the middle (basic necessary but doable). There are more few spots and paths at the top as I expected. The skybox is much better now. Fun wide gameplay and the bots are decent.

    good layout and design, like the skybox, clean textures/meshes, trim, surrounding water and orange sunlight; bots are good and lots of battles happen at the flag bases; blue flag needs to be more blue.
