Sorry Alex, didn't mean to put any pressure at all.
I've been fiddling around with something similar and will enjoy seeing your implementation when it is available.
Thanks,
Vic

No worries. I just wanted to keep everyone updated as best as possible. I know what its like to watch a dead thread just get forgotten. I may have been working on this ages ago, but I don't want that happening. Is there anything specific I can help you with in the meantime?
Alex
I'm ok, thanks, it's just curiosity.
I'm trying to simulate someone waking up from a dream into the 'real' world, all in post-process from the first person view.
The solution is somewhere between a sort of fade/blind combined with fading anamorphic highlights, depth of field and bloom.
I keep forgetting that this board shoots up a mail when anything is posted.
Sorry again to have bothered you.

Hi Alex,
we are on the lookout for that exact effect (anamorphic flares via post processing). I think it really adds greatly to the UDK, as it is something rarely seen in games built with this engine. Any chance to kick this thread back to life?I see that you started your "quest" in April 2011 (start date of this thread)... and I wonder if we could possibly jump in and complete what you've done so far, rather than starting it all over again at point zero.
dont know if it helps but changing your game type changes your camera fov and whatnot.
I noticed this on one of my lens flares i was making at some point and was not aligned to the screen when I loaded a UDK default map.
I had to change the gametype to utgame or whatever then it worked.
Hello All,
I don't know if that thread is dead, but i've posted a way of doing this post process effect on the imbuefx site.
The effect is not finished but maybe it'll help people get started since it's hard to find documentation on the matter.
