    Default X3DAudio1_7.dll not found

Having trouble starting UDK. Downloaded the March release and installed, but when I try opening UDK, it says X3DAudio1_7.dll not found.
I downloaded the dll and placed it in the directory, but still got the same error.
Does this DLL go somewhere else, like the windows system folder? Or is it an outside program I have to install?
Nobody else seems to have any trouble with this...
    Any help is greatly appreciated!

Just to add, X3DAudio1_7.dll along with past versions are all in my windows system directories. Copying and pasting to UDK changes nothing.
The UDK.exe in the 32bit folder runs, but it's not the editor, it just runs the "demo" game. What the heck am I missing here? Is the 1.3Gb file I downloaded not the full UDK or something??

are you using Windows XP SP2 or better? I've only seen this problem twice, once when I was trying to get it to run in Unix, and once a guy who turned out to be trying to run it in Windows ME.

If you run DXDiag, does it have any complaints particularly on the audio tab?

Is it possible that you may have a bad copy of X3DAudio somewhere else on your system other than the one in windows\system?

Does the March beta installer include everything?
I'm using Vista (64bit). No complaints from Dxdiag.
Another, bad, copy of X3DAudio? I guess it's possible. Anything annoying and hard to pinpoint is possible with Windows!
I got the 32bit editor working by adding "editor" to the end of it's shortcut properties, but 64bit is unaffected, same error. Having to add the word editor is an incredibly silly step, by the way...
So I have 32bit working, still no 64bit. What's so strange about this is that Googling X3DAudio.dll brings up almost nothing of relevance.
I'm going to search my computer for all instances of the file, see if anything odd pops out. Possibly going to uninstall and reinstall DirectX, although I can't really remember if it's possible to completely uninstall that, don't believe I've ever needed to. The only other suggestion is a fresh OS install and to be blunt, F that S.
In the meantime I'll work with 32bit. After playing Crysis 2, I'm left wondering the purpose of DX10 and 11 anyway.

If anyone has any ideas, I'll be happy to hear them!

PS- Just noticed you worked on Dungeon Defenders, wanted to give you a quick thumbs up. It's been the game I play the most on my Android, and inspired me to look back into UDK.

    Eraserhead: Great! Thank you

Normally by default, if you have a 64-bit system, it will launch the editor in 64-bit, and the game in 32-bit (as the game is technically "not supported" for 64-bit, and some things are weird or non functional in 64-bit in game).

If it's working in 32-bit, it sounds like something is wrong with your 64-bit DirectX files. (maybe you have a 32-bit dll where a 64-bit one should be ...?) You might want to grab the latest Microsoft DirectX runtime and install that completely. Maybe even the latest DirectX SDK if you don't mind wasting a couple hundred megs for software you won't use unless you're doing DX development .. but it definitely installs everything for DX.
