The project has recently been handed in for external moderators/inspectors to look at next week. Currently, the Lancer has passed, and has recieved positive feedback from the Project Lecturer, The head of Physical Special Effects Department, and essentially anyone else who sees it. Hopefully I will be getting the Lancer back late next week to keep permanently, with the plan of mounting it on a base to be displayed in my bedroom along with the Retro Lancer from NECA when it is released. The Bolton Uni SFX department want it to be mounted on their wall to help show off the department, but I want it for my own collecting and will be keeping it. If anything, I'll make a second one for the University to keep.
While the first year of the degree does not contribute to the final degree mark at the end if the third year, I have been recommended to make videos/journals/blogs/photos of this project to add to my showreel as it is of a high quality they don't expect from first year students, so not only have I got a sweet looking replica, but also something that may help me get a job within the SFX/Film industry once I have acquired the degree in 2013.

Thanks. Getting paid for stuff like this is the plan. After I graduate, I'm hoping to go into props and/or modelmaking for films or anything else that requires such items.

Now the Lancer is done, I'm going to start working on n ammo box to store the gun in. I'm hoping to have it look like the COG ones from the game, with a hinged lid, so you can have it open with the Lancer on display.

Nice custom man. My tutors wanted me to use pre-exsisting guns and that to make my Lancer (like NERF guns), but I literally wanted to build it from scratch to show off my skills lol. It's good to see though that if I had used pre-exsisting stuff, it could have turned out brilliant. Nice work man.

It was tempting to get the Tri-Force one, but I decided to just make my own. Currently it's coming in at around £100 to build it which is way cheaper than the TriForce one. Plus, this way it contributes to my degree.

That's brilliant. The tri force was too expensive. Wish I had skills like yours. You should consider making other weapons. The longshot would be too cool.

I am working on a longshot now actually. I'm aiming for a workable bipod (it's on the gun in-game, but never used, only in the books), and maybe the casing ejection system since you mentioned it.
Just gotta work the scale properly, since the NECA ones are way under scale comparing them to the game, I can't work from the toy this time round.
