16bit colors and shadow issues.
So, loving the game, the Campaign is great, the skillshot system is great, the scenery and setpieces are great, Anarchy is super fun, everything is just wonderful all around.
Except two minor things.
First off, the Campaign is only running in 16bit colors for me, or at least I assume it is. I'm getting the telltale darkish greenish vomit colored blobs everywhere that usually happens when a game is not in 32bit colors, so thats why I believe thats the case.
Secondly, my shadows are all over the place, and just outright not working at all. During the fight in the beginning of the game, I saw the shadows for my crew walking around on the enemy ship, which was very low texture. Neither of these issues seem to have much of an effect in larger brighter outside settings, but the second I jump back down in to a cave, or a ship, or something like that, its back to odd greenish blobs, and staticy looking stuff.
I'll try to get some screenshots in a bit, thought I was taking some all day while playing, but turned out I reverted back out of the Steam beta, so I don't have any right now. Just wondering if anyone else is having this issue.
Same thing here and I have a physical copy; read around that both Nvidea and ATI are having problems so apparently it's the game itself. Tried some tinkering with my Control Panel but no luck so far.
what video cards does this affect? does it affect nvidia geforce gtx 460 [266.58 driver]?
As for me it is on geforce 9600 gt (with 266.58 driver)
I have the EVGA GTX 480 SC with the latest driver: 266.58. And I don't experience this at all. I do however see that there is some horrible ghosting going on whenever the game blurs. Or at least I think its supposed to blur but instead it ghosts
Try updating you video cards drivers.
I cannot uderstand it, really, it's a 20M+ USD blockbuster FFS! Not some freeware-indie-alpha-demo-trial version!
I can't remember a game in last few years that would have such bugs. I mean there were bugs & glitches in some titles but they wouldn't ruin the whole experience...
Using Radeon HD4850 with latest drivers.

the problem is not with any of the gfx cards and drivers...i am using both my 9800gt and gts 250..both giving me the same effing blue screen and weird shadows and low quality textures until i found the solution to modify the ini with bulletstormeditor as the updated ini's are encrypted, so dwld it and make changes bUseMaxQualityMode=True DynamicLights=True DynamicShadows=True UseVsync=false AllowD3D10=True MaxMultisamples=2 bEnableBranchingPCFShadows=True bAllowHardwareShadowFiltering=True bAllowBetterModulatedShadows=True bEnableForegroundShadowsOnWorld=True as it may decrease performance slightly using more ram but i found it very useful to get rid of crappy textures and shadows... after that u can set post-processing to high which wont cause any problem now...
yup the black lines can be removed by changing post processing from high to med or low...
the textures, shadows and lightning issues were solved by the editor i used and changed the values after that u can set post processing to high and it wont show any problems but i found a decrease in performance and fps issues occaisonally...
here's the link for editor...

hey thnx a ton
I still cant seem to fix 16 bit colors.
ok if u still have texture problems than change ur gfx card setting in control panel for nvidia or ati...start the game set all settings to high and if doesnt change than set to low and restart again and than set to high again...
Found a fix for my problem.
Its from gibbed, the same guy who made the ME2 editor, and the DR2 editor, and a bunch of other editors. File is safe as can be.
Then go to EA\Bulletstorm\Engine\Config\BaseEngine.ini, grab that file, and put it in the program you just downloaded. Its not open for messing around with, and if you double click the .ini, you'll be able to see whats inside.
Go in to the menus, and go to find, and type in bUseMaxQualityMode=False, it should bring you to that specific line of code, and then all you have to do is delete the False, and instead type in True.
Then save the new file, and put it back in the encrypter program again to reencrypt it, otherwise the game won't start, or may not read it, and you should be good to go!
This fixed the blue fog, the blueish textures, low poly textures, missing god rays, 16bit textures, and a few other minor issues as well.
ok 1st of all this file which was uploaded by ButterDick from another forum. it solved my problem and u can try this if this solves urs too...the file got deleted by this uploader and im uploading mine, give it a try...undo any changes if u have made in ur baseEngine.ini
copy the extracted file to bulletstorm\stormgame\config\DefaultCompat.ini and overwrite, make a backup of the original. this is only for the encrypted file...
