Extending the demo

Hi folks,
I know that this may have been posted before and if so please forgive me. A week or so ago I saw a video on Youtube from a guy who had got past the end of the demo and it continued. I tired in vein for hours to recreate this to no avail and this morning when I had given up all hope of it ever happening, out of the blue I walked down after Ishi and the words Drop Pod Detected appeared on the screen and I went on to play for another four minutes, fighting against loads more mooks and a boss.

I have absolutely no idea how I did that at all and would really love to know if anyone else knows how to do this every time so I can explore. Also anyone who has done this before whats in the box that you see after the glass bridge, I tried to grab it but if fell
