    Default SP Embry Station (Final)

    After almost a year of distractions and side projects (read: work & gaming), I've finally pushed this level to a state I can call complete. I hope you enjoy it.

    I've put a lot of effort into addressing all the feedback that was provided for the beta (thanks again for those who gave it), including the following:
    • Increased the play time of the level
    • Added an additional encounter
    • Revamped all cutscenes (and removed one)
    • Improved layout of station upper floor, including revamping the arena
    • Added coverlinks throughout the level
    • Tweaked all scripted events to flow better
    • Added in boatloads of detail
    • Corrected all reported bugs
    • Updated lighting

    nice i dont see any bug voice of anya and marcus fit very well good gameplay but its too short need double time this i like the environment light are realistic good work serenius epic game need you in there team seriously the best sp ive play sick gameplay i hope there will be another one :P

    Thanks, Havok. The length was going to be short due to the scope of the project. The next map I am planning should take at least 30-45 minutes to complete.

    Careful about game length, the more time you spend on the map, the more likely the editor will corrupt it, ensure you make daily backups!!!

    I still remember playing this map way back, I think this'll be very interesting to see what's changed!

    I usually don't play sp maps but I must say, I really enjoyed your map. As mentioned above it's a bit too short but overall it'a a nice little sp map... I'm waiting for more. Thanks !

    I've finished this a few minutes ago, and it was great. Very polished, visuals are nice, and the combat encounters were interesting, so even if it was short, it was fun. Also, two berserkers in one small room... that was a mean fight. Loved it! If you're planing to release more, you've got another customer. Cheers!

    P.S.: That was clever what you did with the voice acting. The lines fit perfectly together.

    Well, got a chance to played it, looks much better, love the structure details, but very short, not bugs met,anyway sp can't last long, so just a short fun....

    Lol, yes not too dark, works fine this time, when i say too dark, it's definitely too dark, maps can't be played well. the official mp brightness is the standard, u c those mp original convertion have no such problem at all, like today's LGE convertion pack...

    You see the problem is that there's no real standard across maps for how the brightness is set. Some designers used the global post-processing to jack up the highlights and mid-ranges, some made the shadows brighter, some used individual post-processing volumes per area, or even for the entire map.

    Takes a lot of playing around to find the right balance as a result, and since the editor shows WAY brighter than the game does, it becomes even more difficult.

    Either way, next map is going to be much more of a complete Gears experience, including big Horde-like battle at the end. Target play time is somewhere between 30-45 minutes.

    Sorry, i'm not a mapper so don't know the detail, i thought some maps is really dark , no light source added at those dark place at all, and some other maps though added some spotlight, not enough and no diffusion, all these birings trouble to gameplay, if i turn all setting to high, the color becomes grey and looks very ugly, not correct contrast, u c we'll play these maps for a long time, so we care about them more,...

    Anyway glad to see more maps coming man, more than 30 min is always good, thx!!!....

    I just played this mod, very impressive! Overall the level detail was so high that it felt like official levels! The end combat sequence with the 2 Berskers was really intense and hella fun =]
    The only issue I ran into was in the starting room, the collision is pretty quarky so it's easy to get stuck in some objects, but I understand that manually setting up a bunch of collision walls to fix these kind of issues is extremely tedious & time consuming task. 5/5!

    The lack of blocking volumes in the opening room is actually a result of me completely forgetting to add it. Whoops!
