since the foliage layers are gone i am currently trying to redo my grass but i have some big problems with the deco layers: for some reason i can only place very few grass meshes on the terrain and if i increase the density there are only more meshes stacked in the same place.
If i use huge chunks of grass to fill the holes i can't use the grass on hills and if i use grass that would work everywhere, it looks just dumb. Is there another way to distribute the grass ?(i noticed that the grass count increases with increasing terrain tesselation)

Personally I'd switch back to September build or wait for Epic to (hopefully) release UDK with new foliage tools.
