welp I built the first layer terain i know there's a lot more layers to probally put on it but the question how do you put buildings on the land scape?

If that's what you meant, you don't put building layers in the terrain, you just build on it.

If there was such a layer type, crap maps wouldn't exist.

You need carpenter, crane some bricks etc to put house in landscape, and do not forget to make blueprints of it first or you end with igloo instead of house.
