Good thing about this thread is, I never have to worry about it being buried since it's linked from Fan Fic Central, so in a way, it's always on the front page!

Okay, so that's most definitely a glass half full analogy. But hey... I'm an optimist!

Eh, Still think it should stay on the front page for a little while longer.

A Day in the Life: Feel The Burn/Moving Forward added.

Honestly, I'm amazed that linking code thing actually worked.

For anyone interested, see the above link? Well, just replace the numbers in it with the post ID of the post you wanna link to. You can get the post ID by clicking on the post number in the top right hand corner of any post. Cool.

I click on the Post ID, get the post link and then use that for my table of contents in a story. Can't remember where I learnt it from.

^ Yeah, but that only displays a single post, not the thread in it's entirety. But hey, whatever people wanna use is up to them.

Writing up a little story for this; it'll be something no one even thinks about when they think of Gears. Can't wait to share it. Up tomorrow or tonight!

Click on the link I added for Night Watchman's story in the first post, and you'll see what I mean. It brings you straight to the post, but also displays the whole thread. I just prefer it to the single post in a window thing.

It's something I'm sure everyone in and out of the universe takes for granted. It should be interesting to make it a good read, as it's indirect adventure.

Either in this thread, or make a thread with "A Day in the Life:..........." as the title. Just insert your title for it in the "..."

It would get more views if you make a thread, so I recomend doing that.

Eh... you really shouldn't be posting entries in here.... I mean, no one will see it, no one will read it, it might just even be lost due to some guy going around posting and then leaving...

Lol, so I read it, think it's great, loved the inclusion of place names like, Timigad, Kinnerlake etc. The training sequence was well executed, although, I was kinda hoping something more significant would take place during it. Kinda like some sort of character defining event? But, no biggie, just my own weird craving for melodrama.

The break between chapters seemed odd too. The bit just before the break, with Dana walking around Jacinto? I felt like it could have used a little more clarity maybe? To hint that Dana's relationship with Jake might be taking a different path? True, it is lightly hinted at already, and you might not wanna beat readers over the head with it, so I dunno. Something to think about maybe?

Also, is there a reason you repeated the breach scene in both chapters? At first I thought it was a case of same training exercise, different day, but no, it's the exact same scene. Yeah, that one confusedled me.

Ohh, and finally, this doesn't seem to take place in a single day, which is kinda the collections theme. Now that doesn't mean I'm not gonna include it in the collection, but I thought it was worth pointing out.

Lol, and what was up with Kyle committing acts of random violence? I get that he's hurting, I get that he blames Jake, but still, didn't the military teach him discipline? I mean, when I get angry I tend not to punch out random people I don't even know, ya know?

Anyways, I liked it and hope you do more sometime.

Since this is two posts in the same thread, I'm gonna have to look up how to edit links to a specific post, but without isolating the single post in a new window when you click it. There's a way of doing it so that the link just jumps to the exact post you need while also showing the rest of the thread. Lol, just hang in until my tiny brain gets to grips with BB coding.
BigBoss, thanks for reading, and thank you for the critiques, I'll definitely remember them. As for the repeated breaching scene, I didn't know I put it in twice. There was some editing I was doing so that's probably what made it show up again. I'll change that. I could have made Dana's scenes more elaborate, but I was working on the whole story for hours and I was already going into the wee hours of the morning and I really wanted to submit it before A Day in the Life was closed.

About it being more than one day, I DID notice that halfway through, and thought, Oh, CRAP!, so that's where I did some editing, a lot of thinking, then referred to other stories in the collection. I finally thought, I started it, this is what I want, this is the story I want to purvey, here it is. Plus I got to thinking, well, each section I write about is a day in their lives, on that day. Gah! I'm going on. But I just want to help you better understand what went on, what was going through my head, etc. Glad you read it, thanks for the comments, and I will take into account all the critiques you have given. Thank you BigBoss!

Yeah, no problem. It's just my opinion though, I tend to point out stuff I notice, lol, probably not the best reviewing system.

And this collection will remain open to new entries, that way everyone gets a chance to have something immortalized in the Fan Fic Central sticky.

No, there's no limits, but like, if you did like ten or something? Yeah, that might raise some eyebrows.

Anyways, I'll read through and add your entry later.

Thanks for including a summary btw Cros, I just feel like summaries make the index post look... I dunno, better somehow? Anyways, do people prefer summaries or not? Personally I like summaries, they give you an idea of what to expect before taking the plunge, it's kinda like a movie trailer, or the blurbs you read on the back of books, movies or games. So yeah, I like them.

I like summaries as well. I tend to always include one, even if it is just for a short story or one-shot.

*Kind of advertising* - For my Collab, I'd prefer all the stories to have a summary of some kind.

Summaries are nice. If the title doesn't give off ideas then the summary must... because you never know what tricky bastard is willing to deceive with his title.

Yea...seriously, what did y'all expect reading a title that said "Snowblind," other than, "...yea, he/she was too unnoriginal to call it something else and just snagged the map-pack title," or "Revival" without thinking of some church function, your best-friend dragged you to because they were advertising "free pizza?" ...or "Charred Sin"...should I even go there?

Maybe some smart people know "Snowblind" is more than just a Gears of War map pack?

As for "Revival" - I'd think more something to do with crazed cultists reviving their demonic god.

Lol, I remember when it was first advertised, and I was absolutely compelled to buy it...but only because Fred told me to...

...but I agree. Summeries serve a productive purpose as long as it's brief generalized. Take Revival for instance, in which the title does have some literal meaning to the backbone of the story, and that it's ethos is in constant struggle between the Queen and the Horde's roots to T'Chark; while in the foreground, the elites are attempting to hold up the Horde's integrity against overwhelming odds.

"Snowblind" has a literal meaning, but the foreground plot stays simple by keeping focus on a marooned squaud, trying to get back to base, wandering through the harsh winter conditions and the other hostillities around them. It's not until slowly but surely in their journey, they begin to piece everything together, and the plot complex thickens.

SKORGE's "Sniper" short has a similar complex. What is there to the life of a siper, other than he takes out a target...and the twist at the end rieterates that occupation nicely.

Question, if Fred Tatasciore advertised the Snowblind Map-pack as Trypticon, would you still by it?

    Quite a deep look into Revival's synopsis, I should probably re-do Survival's.

No, not as Trypticon...but as Megetron, you bet. ...but if he did Galvetron, I'd really flip...

I saw this line that made me laugh:

Ironhide: Prahme, ah don't wanna dah!

Prime: You don't wanadah? What does that mean?

    Ironhide: Ah don't wanna dah!

    ---

Anyway, moving back on topic. Still kind of makes me laugh that my "that's about it, lol" comment is still on my "Day in the Life of: A Steed" entry. Though honestly, I couldn't think up anything to say about it.

And as for "Day in the Life of: A Pariah" does the summary sound right? I like it, but there's something that makes me ponder.
