Q: Why did you take out "Guardian"
A: "Capture the Leader" is "Guardian" and "Submission" combined. It is proving to be a very popular gametype in playtests.

Q: Can I get a Gears of War 3 Fansite kit or Presskit?
A: There is no fansite kit yet for Gears of War 3, but you can find the fan sites and presskits for Gears of War and Gears of War 2 here: http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...fansitekit.zip http://gearsofwar.xbox.com/presskit.htm

Q: Can the leader capture the leader?
A: Yes

Q: Does Gears of War 3 use dedicated servers?
A: For the most part, yes. Private matches will use P2P.

Q: What is the Season Pass?
A: The season pass represents a 33 percent savings versus purchasing the add-ons individually, and also includes an exclusive Liquid Metal Weapon Set.

Q: Where can I get the Season Pass?
A: The Season Pass will be available Sept. 20 for 2400 Microsoft points on Xbox LIVE Marketplace.

Q: What do I have to do to get my retail unlocks from the Beta?
A: Be sure to keep your Beta saved game files. You can delete the Beta executable itself though. For detailed instructions on how to do that, please do the following. (Thanks Popogeejoe!)

If you want to hang on to any of your retail unlocks earned during the Beta, please do not delete your Gears 3 Beta saved games—you can delete the Beta executable itself, but hang on to those saves! (Step-by-step details below.)

To delete the Gears 3 Beta but leave your saves intact:

• Go to the System Settings menu on your Xbox 360
  
• Select “Memory”
• Select “Games”
• Select the Gears of War 3 Beta (507MB) and delete it.

Q: I still have my Beta saved game file, but I did not get my unlocks when I played Gears of War 3.
A: Your Beta saved game files and Gears of War 3 saved game files should be in the same place. As soon as you save both files in the same storage area you should receive your unlocks.

Q: I’ve done that, but I still don’t seem to have my unlocks.
A: They will only be received by the account that unlocked them.

Q: I think I should have more unlocks.
A: As long as you have your saves in the same area and you are the one who achieved them, the unlocks you receive should be all of the ones that you acquired in the beta.

Q: How do I "Get Griffin"?
A: Head over to the Gears of War Facebook page, click the button and get the code. Enter it on Xbox LIVE to unlock Griffin as a playable character in multiplayer mode. Griffin will be available on September 20th.

Q: Where can I get more information about Gears of War 3?

Q: Do private multiplayer kills count towards the Onyx weapon skins?
A: Yes, all kills in versus multiplayer count. They do not count in Horde, Beast and the single player campaign.

Q: Do you have to have Seriously 2.0 to be able to get Seriously 3.0?
A: No, they are independent achievements.

Q: Will we see any deleted scenes in the DLC?
A: No, all DLC campaign content will be new and separate from the main campaign

Q: Which matches are not on dedicated servers?
A: Horde, Beast and private versus matches are the only ones not on dedicated servers.

Q: Am I earning less XP?
A: After reviewing the latest data, we decided it would be best to rebalance the XP curve. This is an ongoing process and we may continue to tweak these curves as needed.

Q: Why does Sawed-Off Shotgun seem to have changed?
A: We have reduced the gib range of the Sawed Off Shotgun in Gears of War 3 and it no longer gibs enemies into chunks farther than the Gnasher.

Q: Why did you change the weapon spawns in Overpass and Sandbar?
A: The changes to the weapon spawns were based on data reviews and player feedback. This is also an ongoing process in which we continue to fine tune game, map, and weapon balance from back here at Epic HQ!

Q: It seems I’m playing the same maps in Quick Matches.
A: This was an issue with map cycling and it will be fixed in the next update.

Q: When will we be able to get the Liquid Green Skins that were in the Jack in the Box promotion?
A: They will be available on the Xbox Live Market Place for purchase January 3rd.

Q: Will my stats progress if I am not connected to Xbox Live?
A: Unfortunately, they will not.

Q: Will there be weapon skins for other weapons like pistols and grenades?
A: Due to technical limitations these will not be available for the foreseeable future.

Q: Can a Quick Match playlist style for Horde be added?
A: Unfortunately, due to the segmentation of horde and not knowing the wave/map you are going into, this is not going to happen any time soon.

Q: I’ve been banned from Gears of War 3. How long do bans last?
A: Gears of War 3 bans are permanent.

Q: How do I report a modder or cheater?
A: We need picture or video proof to take action. Send them to Flak or Cher via Private Message. Modding and cheating are not tolerated and we take it very seriously and we appreciate any help we can have in tracking down those who actively ruin other player's experiences.

Q: I do not have the Fenix Rising DLC and since it was released, I am unable to play on the dedicated servers. Is there anything else I need to do?
A: If you do not have the latest DLC, please choose the “Player’s Choice” playlist if you would like to play on dedicated servers. Player’s Choice is a mix of different game types that does not require any paid DLC.

Q: What are the differences between Force Multiplayer and Multiplier?
A: The two separate achievements, Force Multiplayer and Force Multiplier, are closely named, but very different in the ways they are obtained. Force Multiplayer requires you to win a Guardian match on all the Forces of nature maps. Aftermath, Artillery, Cove, Jacinto and Raven Down. Force Multiplier requires you to kill a Lambent Berserker as a team of 5 FoN characters.

Q: I think I should have more event ribbons.
A: Socialite is progressed by playing in unique events. There are 35 unique ribbons that can be earned. The cycle restarted itself once it reached that limit. This was done to prevent players from gaining one ribbon for each match played. The cycle goes by weekly date, not by gametype. One match per week is all that is required to earn a ribbon if you have not gotten that ribbon before.
