@ EPIC GAMES
I think the time has come to inform the fans of your wonderful UT series about your plans of a new UT game.
If somebody hears the word "EPICGAMES" the first thing that comes in mind is Unreal Tournament.
Epicgames, pls never forget your roots... i think that was UT!

Well, I am not sure they have forgotten that. 4 iterations of UT is....not forgetting. 1 Unreal 15 years ago (RTNP and U2 were technically not Epic) is forgetting.

I never thought that the UT2003 is better than UT2004. I know both of those are same or very little differences....

UT2k4 was the best FPS ever made. It had something for everyone as long as you could handle the intensity of the game. The reasons for UT3 being a complete failure is because they tried to make it more realistic, which for me, and I'm sure many others, completely ruined it. My 2 favorite guns in UT2k4 are the flak cannon and the lightning gun. In UT3, they changed the flak grenade mechanics... minor issue... I could have learned the nade mechanics... if I was able to deem the game worth playing. As for the LG... it's too unrealistic to have a gun that fires lightning at a specified target... let's remove it. Being able to jump after dodging... how's that realistic? Let's remove that as well (which screws up trials maps). A gun that fires a beacon that lets you teleport to its location? Far too unrealistic. They may as well have you get tired after running, fall over from an explosion, and have bullet spray from weapon recoil. Then there's the annoying blur effects that make it difficult to see what you're aiming at in some levels. All I played was the demo because I had no desire to buy the actual game. If they make UT4, or UT20xx (which I really hope they do), I sure hope they go back to their roots of unrealism.
I just started playing 2k4 again recently... played a few godlike DMs yesterday (me and 9 godlikes in a deathmatch... it's pretty epic [maybe once I've gotten some more practice in those, I'll do some TAM matches again]) and I'm going to do a few more today.
So your argument is based on realism? "Unreal" mate...kind of implied.
UT3 failed because we are fickle and jaded. It is a great game, the closest to the original yet in many ways. Don't get me wrong, UT2K4 is also great, but it was a fairly major departure from the formula. The translocator has been there since the beginning and you can turn off the motion blur in UT3. But hey, you didn't even buy the full game, so it's hard to comment further with your limited perspective of the game...but it's funny that it doesn't stop you.
Your post seems like that of one who never played the original.

tbh every game in ut franchise is great, but ut3 is indeed closer to the original. Higher gravity like in Ut99/UT3 is better, but it should be merged with dodgejump&walldodge for maximum gameplay.
