The Soul Killer Short Story Collab

Welcome one and all!

As some of you might have known, I put forward a proposal that an idea for a short story collab would be to theme it around the Soul Killers, my fan characters.

Seems as, overall, the idea went down pretty well and people were happy to go along with it.

So here it is!

Your Entry

Basically, it's straight forward, much like the other short story collab's such as "Day in the Life", "Voices from Hell" and "Letters from Sera" you write a short story based on what the theme of the Collab is (This time being Soul Killers)

Not sure what the length have to be, but the short stories to the other collabs were one shots. What do you think?

Rules

Only real rules I can think of:

1) Your short has to include at least one member of the Soul Killers, it can be about them, or someone who knows them or heard of them, though at least One Soul Killer has to be featured. Be free, but be sure to keep to this rule.

2) No Under-mining the group.

3) When you've done your entry, Visitor message me the link.

Most people do one shots for collabs don't they? Some longer than others, but the plot is told in one chapter?

Yeah, pretty much. I guess some people want to do longer stories though, which, if it's in the rules, is fine too.

I mean, I'm guess I'm okay with people wanting to do longer entries, it's up to them. I just thought One-shots were the thing to do for collabs.

They are, if you have a deadline.

Just make sure they're nothing long or epic... the idea is that the collabs are supposed to be quick things to loosen up your writing and cut loose!

I think it's just generally accepted that the stories in a collection are usually shorter than normal. And with this been a forum, a complete story that can be contained in a single post seemed like an ideal way to showcase a variety of tales in an accessible way.

That said, it's your collection, so it's your rules. Whatever you wanna do with it is fine. And there's a lot to be said for longer stories with multiple chapters too, they allow for deeper and more complex storytelling.

Personally, I'm happy with people doing however long they want, though as Wisdom says, perhaps nothing TOO long.

So when is this "contest/event" over with? I need until this weekend so I can actually sit down and write for once.

I think I finally have a direction for which I can write my contribution to this...which makes me happy... to have peace of mind and the ability to write something meaningful.

Yeah I agree, especially if some of us have strained time limits but really wanna take part in this. For example: Me.

I need to get some information from Jay before I continue onwards... but this is looking better and better all the time.

I'm looking to doing something a little different, maybe a tad similar to how I did my day in the life piece.. it takes a while for my brain to click into place, but I'm off work for three weeks now so expect something soon.

I had to stop for a while; Real life came calling, as always. I should be able to start getting some more work done today, maybe tomorrow, depending on my work schedule.

Still in progress...

I haven't given up but I'm trying to do the Locust justice and I'm trying to do the Soul Killers I plan to use justice... so it's taking a while... I want this to be epic. But I haven't given up yet...I'm still working on it.
