    Default Looks Like ......

Looks like I'm seeing less and less UT3 people playin UT3 These Days. Is it becasue Epic is not supporting the game anymore?

Yap. Noticed that as well. I guess it's because there are no updates for the game anymore and people start to think: "I don't want to play a game which has still the same bugs since the release" or something like that. I wanted to play a match to take a break from repainting textures on a vCTF server yesterday and had to wait almost 2 hours (in that time I've been working on these textures so that I spend the time useful) until a server was a little bit filled (6 people).
A huge fan of the entire Unreal franchise and Bulletstorm.

Starcraft2 has +- 1 Million users online atm. Now if 1/10000 of those are UT3 players that would mean UT3 just took a small population hit.

I suspect that it has something to do with the UT3's having relatively few people playing it to begin with. When a game has few players at the start, it's only a matter of time until online multiplayer activity really dies out. It might also be the Starcraft 2 effect to some extent. Starcraft 2 is like a black hole that is sucking down player counts from other games, at least other RTS games.

I wish there was a vomiting emoticon so I could express my feelings towards that visually and easily.

I tried QL a few times. Did quite well in Clan Team Arena (TAM/BTA). Got bored .Went back a few months later, did bad due to being out of practice and was kicked from every game I played purely due to not being as good as the rest of the @$^&!£%"! who play it.

Unreal 3 is over 2 years old. Even the people who still like it now only play a few times a week where as before they'd of been playing it every day.

I still like it. But I can easily go 5 days without playing.

This. To many the game was nowhere what it should have been when it was released. Missing features that were expected for a PC release (that previous iterations in the series had), bugs out the wazoo, and an overhaul later that fixed nothing followed by dropped support.

The same topic has been discussed to death in this forum over the years, but one thing is clear: Epic realized they screwed the pooch and that the game's potential to be a successful hit is long dead. There's simply not enough people in the PC market that's interested in a broken UT game that even die hard UT fans shunned.

Oh, don't forget the summer holidays in the US. Supposedly that also takes a substantial cut out of a playerbase too. According to one of the S2 devs anyways.

Well then I see no reason to keep my UT3 Halo server up if thats the case. My server account is up on 08/20/10 so I see no reason suppot a game thats pretty much dead. Kinda like beatin a dead horse lol

People still play on my server (wykydtrons) and Taffy's (beer drinkers) for DM and TDM. Unfortunately Taffy banned me from his for being too good so I'm stuck playing only on mine and duel servers.

Anyways I think SC2 is taking away from UT3 more than anything else lately. Every time a new competitive game is released a few UT3 players are lost. SC2 is taking more than a few. Even I'm playing it and I don't play anything but UT3.
