Yes I do but TU3 isn't working for me and I still get that executable code error.

TU3 not having any effect, TUs freezing while downloading, Game crashing on start, Editor crashing at random times, You have to be signed into live in order to save, Editor Crashing when you try and cook terrain, Editor crashing when you try and load materials, Game crashing at random times while playing campaign, custom content doesn't appear in game, shuttering even if you have a good PC, sometimes there is no sound, Prefferences not saving, losing all game data.

Some of those were fixed but not for me! Because I can't even get the TUs to work.

You couldnt be more wrong. Typical console gamer. The only thing I dislike more than your attitude is your terrible aim with the controller in every game you play.

I preordered L4D 2 on Steam and paid full price for it. I bought MW2 in a retail store then bought both DLCs on Steam for it.

The only bug I ever ran into on this game was the whole cluster*bleep* of losing your saved games. I was a few levels into the game on Insane. A week or so went by and when I went to play it again, it said no saved games could be found. Aside from that, Gears on the PC is awesome.

I built a PC JUST to play the game. When my pc copy became a little scratched up and would no longer install, I bought the Games on Demand version, and could not be happier. My machine cranks this game at full graphics on a 1920x1080 screen at 60fps constantly.

I purchased my copy a few months back on Ebay for about 15$, but I think it's fantastic to see a possible revitilization of Gears for Windows. Spread the word guys, and maybe we can bring it back to life until Gears 3! I'll be online.

I just picked this up from GoD and it runs wonderfully. It's drop-dead gorgeous too...which is something of a bummer. Now I really, really want to see what they would've done with 2 or 3 on the PC.

This is not typical BTW. Myself and about 10-12 others(if not more) have NEVER had these issues at all. Everything worked fine for us after the TU3 update. Maybe some of these issues existed when the game first came out, but all seems good now. I'm not sure about the editor, there are custom maps that work so it must work for some people. All the other things you listed are fine for me and the people I play with. Not to mention all the people playing that I don't play with.

PS: I only responded because I think the game is great and works/runs fine on a semi-decent PC by todays standards. I didn't want new people reading your post thinking they would have the same issues. Is this Import2Dope?

Hey guys, quick question - I've been attempting to record with Fraps, but after some frustration when trying a few months ago, I removed Windows from my hard drive. (on a Mac) I realized how far away Gears 3 is, and how much fun this game was, so I decided to re-install and start playing again. It runs great at full settings for me. My only problem is that Fraps, for whatever reason, does not like it.

I can get a solid 60FPS for a few seconds, or minutes even, and then it will start dropping rapidly to a very low FPS, (10,20,or low 30) and then go back up to 60. I've used the .dem recorder option before in Source games, such as TF2, but I'm unsure as to if Gears might have this feature. If anyone could help me out here, that would be great.

I got Gears PC on Demand a few days ago and I can't play it. The game slows down a chugs alone even on the lowest settings. I don't know what is wrong because I can play Crysis all settings maxed out no problem but can't play Gears PC without slow downs and freezing.

I have Catalyst Control Center 11.8 installed.

I want to grab Gears PC but I feel £15 is just way too much for such an old game, no matter how awesome GoW1 is.

Especially when there are a load of more recent games I want to try that cost the same.

I mean I've already had about 4 copies of GoW1 for my Xbox.

Does the GoD version fix the constantly loosing save file issue? Plus I get an occasional "Modified code" error even though TU3 is installed. Plus I have issues when turning on DX10 (The game usually instantly crashes and I have to reinstall.) Plus occasional random crashes during campaign. I've lost count on how many times I've had to reinstall this game due to various bugs (Most of the time the game refuses to startup after it crashes by crashing again). Then of course achievements randomly not registering. The list goes on.

The losing game save issue even exists in Halo 2 PC, though not as bad as I only have to restart the current mission, not the whole game (Seems to be a Windows LIVE issue).

Ok, this game is what, 6 years old? Come off the $20 price tag for a digital freakin download. Furthermore, people who already own the Xbox version should be able to get the PC version free or discounted. Why should I have to pay full price a second time to play the same exact game on a different system? Why should I shell out $20 just to do the achievements again for Gears 3 unlocks (Chrome Sawed Off?)? I'd gladly play it and get most of the achievements again, including finishing on Insane, but I can't see spending another $20 on it.

GFWL being the only digital source for download of GOW1 just blows. I've had the worst experience with GFWL than with any other gaming service or network EVER! I've still not been able to download a proper non corrupt complete set of cab files to install my purchase. GFWL has weak support via their telephone help. I really hope that this title becomes available via steam or gog, or even origin! heh. I just cannot believe how difficult this has been. GFWL is just not worthy of my coin.

UPDATE: Thanks to Papa Midnight's trail blazing and tenacity on what actually is causing problems I was able after a couple of days resolve, install and play this damn game on my pc... whew what a pain in the 455! bgeeeebzuzzzz! What Papa Midnight had suggested and I did, was to accumulate as many uncorrupted cab files with good digital signatures after repeated downloads of the 10gig+ mess and save them in a separate local, copying them back over when a new download had enough 'good' files combined with the collected and saved ones together covering all the bases so to speak... What a damn GAGGLE FEST... worst experience ever, I'm a geezer, been a gamer back to modding my amiga 500 and then some... Never have I ever found it required to play this ****ed up download 'game' with MS or Epic or whoever is responsible for the delivery of these files from GFWL marketplace. There doesn't seem to be any sort of inherent integrity check of the files post download or during or anything... the absolute worst, it's negligent and presents a give a **** attitude towards the fan base.
