TU6 gives me super long match connection times

Ever since TU6, I have had so much difficulty connecting to ranked matches. I hate it. It is ruining the experience for me big time. TU6 put the EPIC in "Epic Fail"!

I have the same problem and I hope EPIC fixes this soon. It takes me 15 min to find a game and then its always against the same people. I was working fine before TU6. You fixed the bridging host problems and many other problems EPIC but this time you created a problem for me. Please fix it.

Epic says that the problem is the router, the configuration, the bandwidth, the ping, and so on. I say that with my broadband conection I can play Halo 3, Lost Planet, Burnout Paradise, Borderlands, Bioshock 2, Call of Duty PERFECTLY (multiplayer). So It's not my fault that I can't find matches, the fault is of Epic. I feel "banned" without be a "Jack Sparrow" (Yeah, don't forget, Epic, that I've payed a Xbox Live Gold Membership)

Banned? Really? YES... these days, people have proved that they can find players to play inmediatly if they "avoid" the unfair restriction with a simple tip. So, this demostrates that Epic bans players to play multiplayer (Yeah, don't forget, Epic,that I've payed a Xbox Live Gold Membership)

I agree with the players with better conections play together. But, PLEASE, Let the rest of the world ("the searching people") play together. Publish the "simple tip" officialy to everybody knows.

I love GoW, but not Matchmaking a.k.a "the new virtual apartheid". Epic decides who play or not (not others companies) by the ping. (Yeah, don't forget, Epic, that I've payed a Xbox Live Gold Membership to play online)

PLEASE Let "the searching... people" play together. Publish the "simple tip". It's easy!

Epic punishes to the players with a "bad ping" with a "eternal seaching...." Don't believe them! It's NOT your conection or your coutry with low population. It's NOT. It's EPIC-fail.

There's a simple solution. Search the web. Go beyond the first page on Google. "The Searchin.... People" can find players in less one minute. Yes. It's not a mirage, you can.

Here, some reactions of players after they tested the "simple solution":

"What a shame, Epic! I could really play"
"Epic was "banning" us to play GoW2"
"I can't believe it. It works. I can play now. Epic-Fail!"

So, Search the web! Leave "The Searching.... People" brotherhood behind!

I wanna leave a message to Microsoft ( I've payed to play online) & Epic (I've bought GoW 1 & 2 to play offline & online like another games): Japanesse companies would NOT do THAT. Who's Jack Sparrow, now? Not players. You both!!

totally agree, we who are of Latin American players have bought Gears 1 and 2 some in limited edition like me,buy your maps downloads . pay Xbox Live Gold Membership to play online especially Gears 2.and leave us out of the public matchmaking.
this is a scam from Epic.
or when playing Modern Warfare 2 does not have problems finding match.
Epic Us are also consumers of their products and users xbox live too

i have issues with gow2 since update 6. i cant even play online with another xbox in the same house. on career it is totally glitched i cant host a game it will only allow local, yet if i start career on my own then quit to lobby i can play online? i love gow recently brought the complete map packs and now cant play what so ever. i understand nothing about routers pings and so on but i know the game worked perfectly before hand and we have no problems running 2 xbox off my router on any other game. is anything going to be changed in the near future? it is very frustrating any input would be greatly appreciated..

I have the same problem. All other games work just fine but after TU6 it is almost impossible to find other players for me. It feels like I have been robbed by Epic because i have bought collectors edition and all downloads and now I can not play the game anymore. The question is if Epic will fix this in Gears 3? If anyone have a solution to this problem please post it in this forum. Gears 2 was my favorite game to play online but to look on a screen that says searching is not my idea of having fun.

I, like everyone here I have also struggled to find ranked matches besides that I do not agree that the rest of the world also have this problem because I think the only solution would be an update number 7 to leave well enough alone before update or delete the number 6 please, I do not know why you had this idea of separating the world for the ping. I and the rest of the world must be heard, not ignored, and I repeat that the world is not to blame!, I vote for a solution to this!

Before TU6, I could EASILY play and compete (and compete well) if people over there hosted for example, and I was fine with it...

And Also:

1) Ports UDP/TCP 53, 80, 88, 3074 are open
2) Nat is open
3) QoS Engine is active (gaming traffic is prioritized over other net traffic)
4) I've Enabled DMZ for my XBOX's I.P Address (Firewall is down)
5) I've changed XBOX's country to US, UK, Canada & around Europe
6) I've got the latest firmware version for my router
7) My Wireless network is switches off.
8) I use an Ethernet cable to connect to my router
9) Connecting directly to my modem does nothing, I don't need to.
10) When I play XBOX, I'm the only one using the net!

Im totally really pissed because we PAID!!!!!! to PLAY ONLINE!!!! That youtube video didn't work at all I am still waiting forever. After I finally get into a match it seems to go quicker but its actually getting into a match first time. takes so long my damn xbox and controller goes into hibernate sometimes.

TU6 when it came out was too good to be true. Before TU6 neither I nor my friends could ever find players unless playing with a full party. When TU6 came out that changed, we were able to find players even when searching solo. But then one of the Staff members at EPIC played with the ping limit and messed it all up. I read somewhere that the change was just a test and everything had been reverted to the way it was. But that wasn't true, either that or they didn't know what they were doing because now no one in the Middle East region can find players. Even with a full party. The so called "fix" posted by users here works and me and my friends have been playing that way for months but it only works for Guardian. We can NEVER find a game of Annex or KOTH. Plus we can't take advantage of the XP events and all because the fix requires you run the game without TU6 in affect. Gears 2 is one of my favourite games, but now I'm seriously starting to hate it because of all the multiplayer issues.

i wanna start by pointing out that, i really love this game, and i´ve been a fan of Epic games since i played Unreal Tournament for PC, back on '98, it´s funny the fact that i can find people to play with on that game that was released 12 years ago and NOT ON GOW2, simply HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE?, this feels like racism!!! seriously, and i know it's Not my router!!! and on top of that, i bought THE GAME OF THE YEAR EDITION that includes the complete collection (all the maps), and yes i bought it even thou' i already had the game, i entered the code and then i got a stupid message that says "this item is not available from your current location"

Hi everyone. Since the last update I can't find players in matchmaking too. Half of my friends have the same problem. The only way to play is to use the glitch mentioned in this thread. But if I do so, I still can't play in playlists with map packs.
Does anybody know whether Epic Games are aware of this problem? Are they going to fix this? At least I hope they'll fix it in GoW 3 Beta. =)

P.S. BTW my NAT type is 'open'. Other games work perfectly.

i'll tell you what has changed with this update: you cant sign in with your profile anymore, if you try your xbox will freeze. thats what i like about epic "fails"

it could either because you have a strict nat type or if you dont have your local set to your country that can also couse problems....

i dont think its the update causing this i find game jsut as easy as before...

Well getting back from my vacation,turning my 360 on,pop GOW2 in,getting a update,go online GOW2 and yeah... searching players and players and searching. Soo. Epic fail.. no solution at all.. man i didnt bought a game for searching players forever..
Do you peepz maybe know when this will be fixed.. even the solution they gave doesnt work.. and everything is fine with my connection.. Plus im using the same great router that Microsoft using.. so it just cant be that my router is messed up,otherwise i couldnt play online on other games too. My ps3 gets even players from japan with a nice ping. Without lag, and im from the netherlands... please fix this EPIC! its for your fans..
