Gears of War 3 -PC- YES/NO

Ok guys was wondering what everyone think's about Gears 3 coming to PC, Personally i think there is a chance for example microsoft are releasing fable 3 for the pc and its a bit like what happened to Gears on the PC, Fable 1 came to pc fable 2 dident and now fable 3 is, I think microsoft are trying to have another go at the pc bacause they are releasing fable 3 under thier windows download thing (wont be in shops), could this be what is happening to gears 3? i don't know but i would love to know more at E3. Personally i don't think there is a risk devolping a game for pc, Epic use the good old "piracy" excuse but if a game comes to pc at the same date as the console version, has mod tools/editor, dedicated servers and plenty of support from the developer i don't see a problem why the game wouldnet sell well, Sure look at bad company 2 they done all that i stated and sold very very well on pc so did fallout 3, orange box Etc You cant just do a bad port and not support the game and expect it to sell plus if you dont put a pc game on steam or direct download or whatever how do you expect it to sell, Over 85% of pc game sales are throught digital distrubtion, So a note to epic you make awsome games and truth be told you have been Neglecting the pc fans for the past few years but you guys make amazing games and i have alot of respect for u guys but please please bring gears 3 to the pc or at least let us know where we stand . Imagine gears 2 never happened, Epic decided to go from gears 1 straight to 3.

Regardless of how the storyline is incomplete I would buy gears 3 as long as it had an editor.

I would love to see GOW3 come to the PC, I would even buy it without them releasing GOW2. But I don't think this will happen at all. Hell, GOW PC isn't even available on Games on Demand. I don't think Epic has much confidence in the GOW franchise on the PC anymore.

Good, that what i said before, Fable 3 is a chance big titles of MS return to PC this time,
Gears 2 no PC so this time Epic can strike back ,as this is the ending story of Marus in Gears universe series, if one game will make fully power of UE3.5, only Gears 3, and the new upgrade editor for all the gears mappers and modders here, after yearby year, Gears community PC grows bigger and bigger.

So i hope Epic can think about lessof making money on PC, but port this Gears 3 to PC toi imporve PC gaming market and make it a boost, best games always deserve on Pc for a world change in future...

I'm Glad to see gamers from the PC scene representing. I too would like to know if G.O.W. 3 will be coming to the PC. How can you neglect the scene that started it all. If it wasn't for us PC gamers and our ability to modify the game or whatever it may be, there wouldn't be custom skins, extra content, or headsets that originated from VOIP. We are the reason for the gaming scene of today. I was under the impression they didnt release G.O.W. 2 for the PC because PC users refused to pay for a windows live subscription. Yes its free now, Remember when You bought your G.O.W. PC game it came with 30 days free windows or xbox live card. Epic don't let us down. Make it about the fans not the money. You will make your money along the way if you treat the fans good. I would love to see the graphics of G.O.W. 3 on my HD 4850 X2 in crossfire. G.O.W. looks sick for a 2007 release. PC gamers are in it for the graphics and the community. Us older heads don't want to be on the xbox360 with a bunch of fouled mouth 12 yr olds. we want mature gaming with mouse and keyboard.

Gears series is the only one deserve all platform, because no other cover shooting games can do better till today, they are poor little clones but Gears is always on topnotch, Gears made the history and set a new standard of gameplay, that's why we want it on pc, people love all kinds of FPS, there's no king of FPS, also too many every year, but when we want to choose the best TPS, no doubt Gears is the best, you can't find more better ones. I've pretty much buried the whole Gears 2 or 3 coming out on PC. I did mention on another thread that I'm not going to bury this without having my say. Not to bash at Epic because I think you make kick ass games. Fact of the matter is 1) I think that little speech by Mike Capps stunk to high heaven. Yes, I do think that their are more profits in console gaming than there is in PC gaming. That's just plain reality. ID Software has even admitted to consoles being a more profitable business but you don't hear them or any other company for that matter play the "piracy" card. It just makes me sick to my stomach that you assume that we're all "pirates". 2)Piracy or no piracy, Epic really shouldn't be harsh on the platform that put them on the map in the first place. Who was it that bought your two story mansions? Who was it that bought that very nice building you work in? I know it's nice because I've seen tours of it on G4. While I don't really know if you live in mansions or drive fancy cars, I'm sure you see my point. Because I really love the keyboard and mouse combination. Now I use a Logitech G13 gamepad(you guys should really try it out). Also, I really do despise Xbox live. For about $8 a month, I get to listen a bunch of immature kids who could probably give the late Richard Pryor a lesson in cussing. When asked when is gears being released and what platforms Cliff only replied to the release date never said platform or platforms. The what platforms question was totally avoided.
With that said I really do not think Gears 3 will make it to PC with Gears 2 skipped it wouldn't be sensible to do so.
And all the PC bashing that was done from Epic and M$ has really hurt many fans and think that it would not sell as well as it would have if they never did so much bashing on the PC gamers. Assuming that all PC gamers are Pirating games. We all know that Pirates crack everything including the 360.

Over a year ago? great...i just received these news from some game forum posted recently about Fable 3 PC, so i posted here. Anyway, 08-10, 3 years past and no Epic game come to PC, i hope they change mind this time and port Gears 3 with upgrade eiditor finally. There's no more UT in future soon, so Gears 3 is our only hope now.
Bulletstorm or Halo reach is ok, but actually we want cover system TPS like Gears, let's hope our dream comes true...

The problem with PC games is that everyone has different PCs. To make up for this they have to allow changing of sound quality and graphics. Now if you had something like Crysis 2 on the PC and your computer isn’t … well the best. You’d have to tone down the graphics. Crysis 2 without graphics is like playing monopoly by yourself. With the xbox 360, everyone has the same xbox360; therefore they can make the games with the graphics they want, and the sound they want. See my computer for example, it needs to play Halo CE at min graphics, sound, and resolution for me to even have a standing chance in multiplayer, I would not be able to run Gears 2. But say someone with a high-end computer, they would want the max. graphics and sound quality possible; however, people with that high end of a computer is probably only an negligible fraction of the PC gamers. Epic/ Microsoft would not great that high of gameplay viewing quality, probably angering the people that have that high tech of a computer and along the way pissing off low-tech computer users. PC are much to broad and have extremely different potentionals for gaming as opposed to the Xbox 360 which everyone pretty much has the same type.

You make sound as if it should never be an option for the PC to be a gaming platform. Sure, much of what you say about multiple configurations (PC) versus a unified configuration (console) is a valid argument, but it is still flawed. Consoles' unified configuration and persistence as compared to the PC that can be upgraded without having to bring out a entire new line means that console game developers have to learn to squeeze more out of the existing platforms for several years. On the flipside, PC game developers can experiment with higher level graphics, controls/functions and information flow since PC hardware is constantly evolving. It does not need to be an either/or situation.

Yes, maybe that's the original news, i read in a translated different language so maybe not very exact, just a CliffyB interview by foreign game website, talking about Gears 3, included Level setting on MP, customize character, Beast mode, 4 coop, and about Gears 3PC, now i translate back below, sorry my bad English...

Todays PC's are quite affordable and gaming cards are much more affordable and allow pretty decent quality graphics without issue.
If your PC is only able to play old ass Halo on minimum settings multiplayer or not it's time to stop buying $60 games for your console and dish out $100-$150 on a nice kick ass gaming card. And get this that's still cheaper than a Xbox 360 or PS3
I completely disagree that only a fraction of PC owners can game I now see standard desktops with gaming capabilities and even laptops that can game in the $600-$800 range.
There's no real game at this time that holds any owner of a new pc from 2008 to current that can not play newer games at a very acceptable quality and resolution.

I mean seriously a vcard that costs $70 today can play Halo maxed and Gears with very acceptable settings. Had Gears PC running on my sons PC that has an 8800 and a old AMD dual core processor at max settings and was smooth as hell today a SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 5770 vcard only costs $160. There's no excuse today with nice vcard prices affordable to the masses and these cards can play newer games maxed with pretty high resolutions 1440x900-1680x150.
Stop paying $100's for vgames you can beat in a day and try investing in a vcard for your pc that will last years. A 8800 vcard that is now 4 or more years old can still play current games at max or close to max settings. Consoles are holding us PC gamers back with thier old ass hardware if developers would pay more attention to PC's.... graphics would have already leaped a generation a few years ago.

Thanks, but Bulletstorm is not really done by Epic. It's done by People can Fly and being distributed or published by EA. Epic bought the studio when the game was in early stages of development. Sure, Epic may have a little input in Bulletstorm, but most of the credit goes to PCF and PCF alone. As I posted earlier, I truly believe that Epic has abandoned or could really care less about the platform than made them what they are today and I dare them to prove me wrong. Sure, Mr. Blezenski did mention that PC gaming will rise once more. Whether or not we get any future Gears titles, what is going to be Epic's contribution in terms of making games?

I'm sure Epic will use Gears 3 to strike back to PC this time, becasue Epic is a commercial engine producer, other big engine like ID, Crytek ,Vlave all cross platform and on PC, if Epic still stick their main work always on 360 there will be very limited, PC is changing but console remain the same, and will last for another several years, so if Epic want to beat other game engine and make some engine boost test, they need sth really big on PC made by Epic themselves to show the true unreal enigne 3.5 power, there will be no more UT soon, and Gears already succeeded on 360, time to win on PC again.

The chances of that are slim. If Epic do go ahead and put it on the PC then, they'd have to pretty much sell the game for more then it's worth. Where as Gears one had a whole lot more included for the PC version then did the 360 version. Now that was only done to sell the product on the PC community. The numbers were okay, not the greatest but okay. But in the end - of they were to move the game [Gears 3] to the PC and do it over again - it would be like a slap to the face of anyone who bought it for the 360. Know what I mean?

It's their choice to sell it on what platform, but if they include things that are not on the 360 again is like an insult. Should the PC version not be identical to the 360 version? It is after all - the same game. But to add more content in afterwords is like selling a whole new game while everyone who waited at midnight bought the half-finished product. Gears three on the PC could work - but it would need to be the same as the 360 one.

Modifications can be done by players later on. Do you understand what I'm getting at?

Sorry, my bad Engligh, just rumors, and they are not English forums, it said Nvidia want to support a lot of PC games using PhysX in future, and a long list, included Gears 2...i don't know if this news is true.

Despite that we didn't get Gears of War 2 for the PC, I'd still get Gears of War 3 for the PC. Though at this point I doubt we'll also be getting the third installment. Bringing GOW 2 & 3 would help in drawing more people to GFWL. A couple of people I know have uninstalled GFWL and I'm thinking of doing the same. I only have 2 titles that use it, Gears of War and Fallout 3. Fallout 3 has lately became so unstable I can't really play through it anymore (and it's a shame since I love this game). And Gears of War, I've already put in well over 100 hours into the game. I'm burnt out on GOW, but I sure did enjoy all the hours I've put into it.
