Gears of War 3 -PC- YES/NO

Well, I kinda knew that Gears 3 would get delayed. Spring 2011 was a little too good to be true and only two months after Bulletstorm. With that being said both Epic and Microsoft still has a lot to owe to the PC gaming community. At least Microsoft claims that they want to focus on PC titles. The only question remains is will Epic do the same thing and give us PC gamers a break by releasing a future Gears of War title for PC? Only time will tell. Patience is a virtue.

Well, Seems many console fans vote for that map editor request, if Epic just release a editor used on PC, but only could make maps for console Gears 3...i hope it's Gears PC compatible as well.

EPIC are under contract with Microsoft for the Gears of War series. It's not up to EPIC, it's up to Microsoft on where future GOW titles get released. lol. It's like blaming Bungie for Halo not coming out on the PS3. Microsoft owns that too you know....

Why can't anyone in here realize this? If people want to complain to anyone, it should be Microsoft.

They are the ones that take the titles that sell consoles, and make them 360 exclusive.

Problem is that Microsoft does NOT allow for user created content, and they do NOT allow free content unless paid to do so by a developer/sponsor. If they did then the maps/content made for UT3 on the PC would of been available for FREE on the 360, like they were on PS3.

Again...these are all complaints that should be directed at Microsoft. lol.

Good point dude. Personally I wish that they still release Gears 2 as an apology. LOL!

Well, Epic has stated that the IP was theirs and they could do what they want with it, including deciding what platform it would end up with. But surely Microsoft must also have some kind of sayso on the franchise as well.

I'm curious now as to how the user is allowed to use FORGE then? User created content (maps) is certainly out there

All you do in forge is pick what you want to be there, and where. You must be a xbox 360 only guy right? If you knew what "REAL" user created content was you wouldn't of asked the question. So I will educate you on the subject.

Here is real user created content: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t0-pq...eature=related This map was created 100% by a user with the Unreal Engine 3 development kit/Editor. He designed everything, the textures, colors, background, buildings, lighting, water effects, layout, and everything else in that map. Can you do that with the forge editor?

THIS is real user created content. Created on the PC and bought to the PS3/PC by the users themselves. This is what we are talking about, and this is what Microsoft DOES NOT allow. You know why? Because they can't take something that comes from someone else and charge for it. Microsoft is all about the $$$. If they were to tear down that wall, we'd be getting alot of FREE content on the 360 and it would be better for everyone. I play both, so I would love it. I'm sick of having to pay for maps that are made long before the game releases, and then getting charged for it. Most games a few years ago came out with 15-20 multiplayer maps, and now they release with only 8/9 most of the time.

Gears of War PC has an editor built in that is being used to create "Brand new" maps all the time on PC. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R-geAuyx7ng Wouldn't it be nice if the people on the 360 could experiance that freedom, with all games that have a full blown map editor on the PC?

Not quite a 360 only:- Just that my PC is behind the times somewhat - 128Mb Gforce 4 gfx, 1.7GHz Athlon processor, 512Mb RAM

But hey - the real content 101 is appreciated, thanks Sincreator - I see what the fuss is all about

If finally no Gear 3 PC again, then i think even PC modders will loose interest and patience porting and remake those massive mp and models to Gears PC. There will be no UT4 untill unreal engine 4 out, and no doubt it's still FPS, and EPic stick to Gears series, if MS want it exclusive again, then there will be no hardcore cover TPS on PC for a long time. Finally what we get is a second class painkiller 2.0 Bulletstorm FPS again...already get tired of this.

Sorry if I came off as an jerk, but I get the comment about the FORGE editor all the time. lol. I guess it is "kinda" user made content, but obviously not the way I described by showing you what "could" be available to the GOW community, and the UT community. I hope you know what the abreviations are for. haha.

PS: The best thing would be that if Microsoft is not going to allow release for the PC for GOW 2/3 atleast we can get those maps if someone decides to make them. Most of the GOW 2 maps are allready done for PC GOW 1 anyway. I perfer the GOW 1 style online anyway, it is what made the series so popular. Now if only the community would grow more in GOW PC, then it would be all good.

Gears 2 on x-box does have bots, but they're not as realistic as gears 1 enemies.

Yeah they are a bit stupid, but they do revive you and do executions

I think it's possible to get friendlies to revive you, I think I have managed it by when I get downed it triggers the event for the friendly bot to come to me, then do special move revive, or whatever.

However it's execution rules I've always desired, and I really have tried everything I could think of, but I can never self revive....

You tried a toggle godmode then after 2 seconds it turns godmode off, unless that doesn't revive you, I shall experiment!

I'm still not really getting my hopes up. In fact, I think more likely this new announcement on December 11th is just some bit of news for Gears of War 3. Maybe a Beta of some kind.

That will just be stock assets with Unreal Engine 3. Just like UDK uses UT3 for stock assets . The guy will most likely be a student practising with assets.

If otherwise GoW was being ported, the video wouldn't be up or he'd risk losing his job.

But we'll see.

Well, here is what I think are the top 3 possible things that will probably get announced. First is possibly a brand new game set in the Gears of War universe. Kinda like Halo ODST was to Halo 3...not necessarily a sequel. More or less a side project. Second is probably a release date for the multiplayer beta that was mentioned some time ago. Third is of course a Gears of War game for Kinect which probably echoes my first possibility. With a 7 month delay on Gears 3 and Microsoft's so called new aim towards PC gaming does trigger hope that we'll see a future Gears title for PC, but my gut tells me that we're gonna get screwed again.

Gears 2 pc? if MS release a kinect version maybe possible, they release drivers on PC now, but Epic has no tme to do this, PCF either, so i think no way, anyway i hope Gears 3 PC more, 3 is better than 2...
