Big Grin Should torque arrows be able to stick enemies after bouncing?

Wouldn't it be epic if torque bow arrows could stick someone after they bouce? Such as if you bouce a torque off a ceiling or the floor and it hits someone it will still stick to them!

Sure it isn't realistic, since if the arrow is bouncing it doesn't have enough speed to penitrate anything, but Gears of War isn't realistic and games are funner when not realistic IMO. Plus, we can make up a reason for it to be realistic if we have to, such as floor & ceilings are hard were as human & locust flesh is soft and so arrows easily stick to them.

Don't tell me this would be annoying & nooby because it won't be; it will be extremely rare. All it would do is make some epic moment now and then as well as make some great moments for people to add in their montages.

Or it could just do some damage...

    Just an idea.

No, because if it's weak enough to bounce it shouldn't be strong enough to penetrate.

That doesnt make sense... the torque arrow is like an imulsion grenade, it sicks to stuff... thats like throwing a ball of wet toilet paper in the bathroom and it bouncing off the wall..

torque arrows do bounce in GoW1&2... I guess you never noticed? They penetrate by getting enough speed.

Did you read the OP's explanation on how it could be realistic?

I thought they did stick to people if you charge it up enough and ricochet it off a wall?

They ethier stick to anything (wall or living) or if not charged enough nothing. This idea would change that

Actually I just realized a small problem with this. This would mean if someone didn't charge a torque enough to normally stick into a wall and if they hit someone with that torque it would still stick to them... this means sticking torques would become easier because pretty much any torque arrow not matter how weak will stick... Then again it's always annoying when your torque just bounces off an enemy because you didn't hold the button down for another .1 of a sec... Screw it I'm still for the idea!

I say yes, i remember a moment in GoW1 i had in a private Vs my friend. We had a torque off on warmachine. Topside by the troika. He took cover on a sand bag and i barely chraged my torque, it hit the top of the sandbang, bounced up and arced over the cover and stuck him in the shoulder. it was funny because it was moving very slow. i support bouncing, sticky torques.

I know people who can bounce torque arrows around corners and stick people, isn't it already possible? But yah, I like.

This one shot I made, it was in Horde but it still counts, I shot the top of a Drone's cover so that that the arrow looked like it was balancing on the edge, about to slip off. It killed the Drone!
I came up with the Bag 'N Tag idea. No really, check the date. (proof)

Ive killed many a player by bouncing the torgue around corners or arcing it over cover. My favourite is the torque bow 2 piece, or by simply walking up behind someone and dropping the bolt in the enemies sock. It dosn't always stick but you can still get AOE damage.

The torque bow isn't sticky . Hence 'BOW' it has an arrow, that penetrates . No sticks to things . & even if it was sticky things stick if given more force . Logic my friend(:

But yeah Locust skin is actually hard this is why Tai thought of the Chainsaw Bayonet idea as the Pendulum Lancer bayonet couldn't penetrate through their tough exterior
Actually, Tai just grabbed the nearest thing he could find xD

For me Torque bow should only kill someone if hit directly at the enemy and it sticks to them.

Why not? Just as long as the arrow needs to hit the dude for the kill... not land next to them

I would love this! Im always trying to angle bounces just right so the arrow explodes underneath them but itd be so much cooler to have bounce and stick someone. Not to mention, itd take some mad skill to do.

Funnily enough this would be a nerf for the Torque, but in a good way since it does need a nerf really and this is a skill based one.

I mean you can't rely on the splash if your charged shots bounce, shooting at the corners of an enemies cover would be replaced with trick shots and all the challenges that comes with that... the big splash would be just for tapped out shots, which is fine.

    Good idea.

the whole torque bow becomes unbalanced with this
as this idea is making the weapon too powerful with just this small add on to the weapon
    i cannot see many downsides

as this idea would remove a downside of the weapon and made in to a little more reason to use the torque bow. you might as well just say lets allow bullets to rebound till they hit your enemy -.-

and literally an arrow does not pierce in to something if its gone slow
if it was full power and it rebounded it still would not pierce in to the COG armor or locust armor. cause the hit of an environment would decrease the speed the arrow is travelling at which would decrease the power it would impact your enemy at. thus making it more or less weak to even stick on to them

I love this idea, it makes since but it does it anyway lol. I watched both times in Gears of War 1 a friend of mine shot the arrow at the stairs
and it bounced off'em and stuck the other guy in the leg and it killed him. Then in Gears of War 2, someone I didn't know I just met in some random game we we're in Jacinto and he was aimming the guy by the Morter but missed and hit the stone cover and it bounced slowly over the cover and stuck the Dude on the back of the neck but it only downed him lol. So it is possable to stick someone after bouncing around but it's never on purpose from what I've seen tho
