    Default Team specific vehicles

    Is there a mutator to assign a certain set of vehicles to one team?
    So for example team red has Hellbenders and team blue Mantas and Scorpions. And if team red takes over a blue powernode (in ONS) it will spawn Hellbenders now.
    If there is not, it would be great if someone makes that. But it does not have to be now, make it if you have time and if you are in the mood for it.

    That would be a nice tool for Crushas tool set Ask him. Perhaps he'll add it.

    Quite like Necris versions of some maps in UT3... I do believe it's possible, just a custom vehicle factory that spawns one vehicle when controlled by one team and another if controlled by the other.
    Talking about that, it would be nice to have a random vehicle factory which would spawn random vehicles from those that the LD selects.

    Wow, if Crusha and Emerald complete their projects (along with Yourpackage's great work), we will have a UT3 on the UT2 engine!

    But, will you make these team specific vehicle set as a mapping tool only or will it be a mutator (similar to something like Swaptool)?

    I am no friend of mutators, that's why I probably won't implement one on my own. I rather hope that my Toolbox will become something like a standard in the community so that every mapper makes use of it to implement the things he/she always wanted to do.

    However, once it is released, someone who has the ability to do that can use my code as a base for such a mutator, as long as credit is given where it should be.
    Although I don't see how the factory could be used from a mutator's perspective…

    Sorry for necrobumping my own thread here but can somebody try and make that custom vehicle factory thingy as a mutator? I really want to set up some "faction-against-faction" onslaught games with custom vehicles and that would be the only missing thing!

    CheckReplacement, ONSVehicleFactory, replace with UltimateONSFactory, set its type. Should be really easy.

    On a side node is the tool set pretty much ready for release now. I coded everything in that I wanted and just need to check it for bugs now. (I never actually tried some of the stuff after coding it in)

    If someone is interested in helping with bug searching, just send me a PM and I can get you the package plus source code.
    172 classes are really a lot to check through on my own.

    No, sorry if you misunderstood me. I want to be able to choose which vehicle exchanges what and that for each team individually.

    Well, there might be some hard balance to do with. No one should make the new mutator (in this decade); but Crusha had been currently working with the UDK community, unless he (or the other coders that have been left the UT2004 community) suggested that he planned something to do with your idea.

    At some point I hope to come back to UT coding and mapping (though not necessarily this Mutator). But UDK has precedence at the moment and we have crunch time. :/

    On a side note did I try many other games beside UT in the meanwhile, but they all were missing the special something or made you depend too much on other players to get fun and not frustration out of it. And usually was there more frustration involved. Then I came back to UT2k4 after a long absence and it was instantly fun again (and I still knew how melt faces after all that time :>). Sometimes you need a timeout from something to see how valuable it actually is.

    this is a great idea Baryonyx... to be able to set different vehicle sets for teams would be hot, especially with all the crazy vehicles available. A tweak to the worms vehicle swapper?
