Greetings and welcome to the Updated FFC. The thread is presently "active," and I am in the process of updating it regularly and taking requests...please feel free to email me at your convenience.

With the recent changes to the forum format, I will be in the process of updating this thread for easier readability.

Allow me to be the first to say greetings and again, welcome to the new and presently active Fan Fiction Central. As with the original FFC and it’s predecessors, these pages will be dedicated to all aspiring writers, old and new.

Although the original has passed through several hands and several revisions, thanks to the dedicated members of the community who stepped in to revive where the FFC’s original creators left off, we can now enjoy the latest collections of Fanfics bestowed by the Gears of War community. With all said and done, our thanks and compliments to FFC’s original designer, Black Asgard, USRangerJohn, whom took it upon himself to compose and update the previous “Fan Fiction Central," and compliments to Waldo, whom was able to salvage it and get it stickied, preserving the integrity of that which you see as it is, today.

I would also like to thank the following members for their continuous support, advice, contributions, and standard of quality for making these written works enjoyable for all whom seek to read, write, and expand their creativity:

The Fanfic community just wanted to say thank you to our Administrators and Moderators: Flak, JoeGraf, and Pariahman for allowing this thread to finally be stickied and putting up with us over the past few years, and putting up with us still.

And we also thought it would be appropriate to honor those writers that are no longer with us: Black Asgard, Jfab, Snowballin, Shackles23, Grey19, Kulluminatii, XxMarcusxX, The Evil Hat, Waldo, and all the other unmentioned writers that have contributed to the forums. Thank you for all your efforts in writing and making this forum a place where new writers could come flourish and grow. You will not be forgotten.

Also, don't forget to visit the Golden Era Fiction Archive . Here, you can view and read the original classics of the FFC from the early authors of the S&C fanfic community.

Now that we have covered the pleasantries, let's get down to business. At the present, we are now able to add/edit author's and their stories within this thread, therefore it's time to get all new authors to submit your stories here. Older authors are welcome too, all we need from you authors is to Private Message Jonesybites with your story title, a short summary, and the link to the thread and we'll check it out and post it here as soon as we can.

It doesn't make a difference if you're a newcomer, as long as your fic is presentable (decent grammar and spelling, the usual) and isn't for the sake of trolling, or some other ridiculous block of text. A good chunk of the community believes it to fit in those perameters so I would be willing to post it...with it being new, it'll be posted in the In-Progress section, until completion.

With that said, no rush, just email me when you have something for me to post.

The summery is not limited to the plot...it can be a brief poem, or a quote, whathaveyou. With this one being active, (and as long as the administration doesn't shut it down) we can change it later when you have something else you feel is better to put in it's place...or if you want, we won't put in a summery; problem solved. It's your decision.

I only prefer a summery for the benefit of the new readers/visitors, so when they see the title, they can also have the convenience of reading what the story is roughly about, instead of, "Ok, Sympathy for The Devil?...so what the hell is that supposed to mean?"

Hmm... too early to summarize Sympathy For The Devil without spoiling the plot. In fact, I'm not even sure how to summarize it when it's finished... without spoiling the plot.

From what I've read, "This story followes Lt. Natalia Blane, who happens to be a b*tch." That was off the top of my head and it doesnt spoil the plot.

And SKORGE, I've already said George is still alive in Fallen (which happens after this), not to mention his role is limited to just a cameo, I'm hardly about to kill him in a cameo. No, his death will need to be drawn out a little...

^ Lol, yeah. I know there's image limits, but, according to Ace Ventura (the forum member, not the pet detective) you can circumvent the image limits in a post if you use a quote box. Now I haven't tried it yet, so I don't know the exact limitations, but it might be something worth trying.

We can test it out to see how far we can squeeze the limit...as much as I would like ot include more graphics, I didn't do it for the above reason mentioned, and I'm not too familier with the graphic size perameters...and if one does it, you others are going to want it too.

...post it here and I'll take a look. you may have to give me instructions on how to properly "circumvent," the image limit in the qoute box, especially if it's in another quote box.

I presume it has something to do with when you post nothing but text in a quote box, and you get the error "message too short, please lengthen to ten characters or more". Hopefully it means that any images included in a quote box don't count toward the total of ten. That would rock!
