    MAP-AS Interested in AS-Overlord?

    I've made an AS-Overlord remake. It's very similar to the original from UT99 and I want to know if anybody is interested in it.
    Project name: AS-Overlord2k4[KB]
    Beta 1
    Required: Unreal Tournament 2004 v3369
    It's very similar to AS-Overlord from UT99.

    As you can see in these two pics the banners change their color and symbol when a new team takes the role of the defender. I hope you like that idea.

    This... this is... BEAUTIFUL!

    I never really liked the remade AS-Overlord I found on Mapraider. By god, your's is so much more true to the original.

    Sadly, I have no idea on how to do Mortars, perhaps you could replace them with autoguns? Or turrets that players can use...

    The ending sequence should have the original angle. Ok, it was a long time since I played UT99, but I think I remember it being more seen from the top left...

    You should format this post as described in the sticky thread in this forum section, otherwise the post might be deleted.


    For the ProjectileSpawner: Did you set a proper ProjectileSpeed and also rotated the ProjectileSpawner in the correct direction?

    The only problem is, that the projectile doesn't emit sound on the impact. I will create a better ProjectileSpawner later.

    Thank you very much for your compliment and yes, you're right. The angle is a little bit different, but it's really hard to find the right place and angle. I'll try it on Thursday
    I have no idea with the projectile spawner. I've set the projectile speed and the direction in the right way but it doesn't work. It's not completly the same tool like in the UnrealEd2.0
    PS: What did I wrong with the formating? Is it because of the images? Did I use too many of them?

    I have no mortar as you can see. I added landmines as a placeholder because I don't know how to make it. Do I need a karma boost volume? When I change bGravityAffected in the projectile spawner to true, it drops to the ground and explodes without flying in any direction.

    I love UT99 remakes that are done WELL. I find many of them just look like THE orginal map farted into UT2004. That's a big EWWWWWW.

    Make it look more "UT2004" and I think you have a winner.

    Always wanted to play that underwater AS map from UT in 2004....

    To the underwater map: I think you're thinking of AS-OceanFloor. I searched a lot on the internet because I wanted this map too, but I could only find a changed "remake". It's called "AS-Abyss-Lite", made by Corey "Spoondog" Spooner. The gameplay is nearly the same as well as the theme, but there are noticable differences. I think that will be my next project: AS-OceanFloor2k4

    Crusha, it's only a suggestion. You don't need to fill in a form or anything. I never do that, I have my own style, and there's nothing wrong with that.

    Sly, it's quite nice, although I still don't think its of UE2 quality. There are just too many low-poly brushes around that shouldn't be there, like walkways in the control room. You could easily change them to static meshes, making it both look better and relieve the BSP tree. Same goes for towers outside, completely empty corridors etc. With some more polish, it would turn out great. One great example of a remake is Return to Ny Leve, it uses basically the same layout yet everything is remade to conform with UE2 standards.

    EDIT: Need to make a Karma collision for the wodden boxes. Played it and noticed that bodies fell through them.
