    Default QTEs

Is it possible to have quick time events like the ones in resident evil 4 with Udk?

As long as you can script it of course you can.

All you really need to do is disable the general controls and script the sequence. It shouldn't be very hard.

Not all the time. The knife fight in Resident evil 4 is amazing, and heavy rain, one of my favourite games, is made up almost completely of quicktime events. I honestly don't know why people dislike them so much.

They're pretty annoying. It's basically removing all forms of freedom from the game and saying if you don't push A at exactly the right time you lose.

Well, if you played heavy rain, you'd see that is not the case. You can miss a hell of a lot of QTEs before you acually died, and it would affect the storyline. Really great game...

I didn't mind it so much in Indigo Prophecy, but it got SO repetitive.... You can change the storyline in other ways, but a lot of times, especially when games use QTE's, it's so binary that most people are going to just choose whatever one looks like it'll be cooler.

I live Heavy Rain too, very unique but I could hardly call it a game. More like an interactive movie or choose your own adventure. The only time I haven't minded QTE's in a game was Shemue on the dreamcast way back yonder. It was used sparingly throughout the game but I'd imagine I'd hate it now

QTE are a nice way to add interactivity to what is otherwise a simple interactive story. But sometimes they can be a bit "Whoops I failed the QTE to get my wallet out of my pocket".

I would prefer that the developers just spend more time to make the game more interactive. I hated Breakdown though because I had to pick everything up and spend like ten seconds looking at it.
