Just had to finish up some non Gears related stuff first for a few people, finally got around to updating my little blog too, I've been posting everything on Facebook, still have a lot more to add...

If you have any ideas for the " Psycho " Locusts that would be cool, had this rush of ideas then sat down to do something and nothing really worth posting came out...

Thinking about insane Locusts makes me think (lol), Psycho Kantus. Out of all the Locust they seem the most likely to go kinda nutty. Think it's because of their spiritual/mystical elements, just reminds me of self flagellating monks or something. Plus, some spiritual beliefs involve the induction of a hallucinogenic state, by like, licking poison toads, sitting in a sweat lodge or eating hallucinogenic plants. It's used as a way to receive visions and visit "other worlds", so I can imagine Kantus doing something similar, going to far and ending up been driven insane by it all.

For a specific look to match I'd go with a body modification/mutilation type look. Like the Reavers from Serenity, the Cenobites from Hellraiser or the ghosts from Ghosts of Mars. Lol, and yes, they're are all movie references.

I'll give the idea some more thought over the next day or so, I'm just thinking off the top of my head here now. Be interested to see how it turns out.

EDIT: I'll ask Jay if he has any thoughts too, he's come up with some really cool and inventive ideas over the years.

It doesn't have to be detailed or anything, even just a simple idea for a look is good enough, like that Manhunt idea you had. But hey ho, if you can't think of anything than that's ok, we all got that creative block sometimes. Me, more often than most I think.

No problem, I think this thread is worthy of a sticky, what with all the cool art and all. Hopefully more people will take the opportunity to have a look at your stuff, and who knows? Maybe they might be inspired to try something themselves?

Well, a few thoughts:

In Manhunt, the Smilies routinely graffiti the wall with the blood of the guards they killed, mostly just nonsense rambling, but still threatening! Of course, they also shout random nonsense, threats of violence, and accusations of shoe thievery. xD

While I've never read them, The Crossed Comics had a pretty twisted idea for certain pockets of Psycho Cannibals. I think they were called "The Skinfaces" and "The Bloodskins" - For the Skinfaces, they'd decapitate their victims, rip off their skin and wear it as a mask, while the Bloodskins would soak themselves in blood until their skin permanently turns red.

The Creeps from Bulletstorm also do the skin mask thing as well, if you look at some of them, they're wearing Skull skin as masks. Plus, the Creeps have Flag banners on their backs, but instead of flags, they have the skulls of their slain enemies attached.

Agreed. I've actually becoming inspired to look into this comic style, I just love it. I just need to practice is all. =)

Thanks, and yes I am continuing on it. It will all be just a painting 'cause I'll be getting rid of the lineart after I'm done painting it. It's a style I'm hoping to incorporate for certain works I'll be working on. =)

Very lovely, love the detail put in this! Also, hope you don't end up dropping the stuff, it seems pretty fragile to even pick it up from that side of the work when you play it. :P

It can be pretty fragile, but most of this project has plastic pieces and very little foam...
