I'd like to recommend A NormalMap tutorial by João 'Masakari' Costa. http://wiki.polycount.com/3DTutorial...Next_Gen_Games

It's an outstanding tutorial for 3D geometry and normal mapping. Detailed photos and explanations alike. I found it extremely helpful while I've been learning to model.

Is there a UDK tutorial that shows how to make you character turn invisible like in Crysis?
I know Crysis isn't made in UDK but i was just wondering if anyone knew how to do it?

As to not forget about what I've managed to figure out about using the UDK, I've started documenting some of it in form of tutorials. I'd also like to share them with the public.
There's only one up so far, but I'll just put this here: http://lunareffect.wordpress.com/

I found a really good Speedtree tutorial at a site called cg.tutsplus.com

    http://cg.tutsplus.com/tutorials/gam...rkflow-part-1/

Haven't gotten to part two yet. I'm still masticating part 1 but it's very informative and the most technically oriented Speedtree tutorial I've seen so far.

Delicious. Though part two did raise questions about why I'm using landscape instead of terrain as it appears you can use deco layers to paint speedtree populations. :/

    Hi

Can I ask you the following please?

    1. With UDK-2012-5, Can I straightaway start creating a game without setting up a new project?
    2. If we really need to set up a new project for a game, Is there any tutorial for UDK-2012-5?
    3. Is it possible to create a commercial game using Kismet without hand coding of unrealscript?

    Thank you for your reply.

    1. are you talking about Visual studio projects ? if yes, then you can code without creating a new project i used to use notepad when i started out and saved the file as .uc file, UDK has it's own "debugger" which compiles codes there's no need to compile with Visual Studio unless you really want to, that was an advantage to me as it compiled my codes made from notepad.
    2. if you really want to because as i said above you don't really need to, but if you really want to then i reckon this should help http://forums.epicgames.com/threads/...Fringe-and-UDK
    3. depends which kind of game you want to create, if you want to create a really small game you know just one level nothing too fancy then you can use kismet, commercial game does not mean topnotch AAA game, so as i said it depends upon which kind of game you wish to create,
