Unhappy Any Tutorial for Character setup in 3d package to animated and playable in UDK ?

Is there any complete tutorial about the character setup (Bones name, specifications etc), the export to UDK, the setup of the character in the UDK (import, scripts, binding animation) until it is playable in the game and plays animation when you move ?

There is a lot of tutorials about small part of the whole picture, all missing informations, i am quite lost.

How about a tutorial as simple as a sphere squashing and jumping when you walk ?

    thank you.

This is what I mean, some information are shattered all around place, its extremely hard to follow. If we only had one topic that explains it all...

yes the info is scattered around for the simple fact that getting a character in game is a big job which is split into different jobs, modeling/rigging/animating/textures then in editor stuff plus coding. so unless you get all these peoples jobs done by one guy you won't find that one person with ALL the info you need

the thing is , i can do all of that, am stuck at the editor thing. Do i need to have the coding done for me to see the result in the animset editor or it's not necessary , yet.

depends how far you are, but you should be able to see you mesh with anims in the editor.
if you have created a new animset for your character you need to select it in the animset veiwer

Hey geodav, you're probably the right guy to answer this: I reckon the "UT3 style" of Character UV layout and setup is still in UDK, since it has a base version of UT in there, but while it wasn't possible to do them any other way in UT3, in UDK can I do my own UV layout and it will work?

You need to make a new Pawn to be able to get past the UT-system. To get your pawn to appear you need to make a new GameInfo and stuff. I'm afraid you have to venture into Unreal Script for that.
