That happens when your connection has a lag spike during the match or sometimes if your connection is just very laggy for the other players. When it gets really bad, the game thinks you're cheating(lagswitching, standby, etc.) and gives you 0 xp for your troubles. I'm not surprised that it happened with you hosting a game full of American players.

So he is punished for Epic's lack of consideration for gamers outside the USofA.

its not only that i live in chicago and ive had the same exact thing happen to me. you can cause a latency spike just by hitting your guide button and that will cause you to be flagged as a lag switcher and you will get 0 xp

Not quite. Any kind of spike, for any reason in or out of the players control, can cause the 0XP to trigger. It's got nothing to do with the fact that he doesn't live in America.

The 0XP is a great thing though, as it has definitely reduced lag switching and other network tampering done in the name of cheating. Nothing will ever completely eliminate it, but it's certainly reduced it. It can happen to an innocent person, like in this guys case, and it's happened to me three or four times as well (and I don't cheat)...but I'm completely OK with occassionally not getting XP in a game if it means that I almost never have to worry about people lagswitching. To me it's a necessary evil.

if you play with people on the other side of the world, there will always be lag, you can do nothing about it, not you, not epic, not ms, the distance is just to far

The fact he is PUT UP against people on the other side of the world through the matchmaking system, that IS something Epic can do something about.

Actually I get it quite often where I only get the win xp or none at all when I've hosted.
I never used to get host at all when we had our old livebox, but when that packed in we had a new one sent to us and I seem to get host on a daily basis now. If I get host when I'm playing on my own, my xp is generally fine at the end of a game, but not once have I had a single game where I've hosted a lobby for me and friends and got xp at the end of it if I was host for it.

I should not have to play with people from australia or new zealand. No offense to you kid but have you ever played on an american connection. No matter what you'll lag to the point where its almost unplayable.
