    Fixed bmp3.ini file

    New vehicle Bmp-3
    driver 100mm explosive shell slighly less damage then a tank and half the explosion radius
    30mm deadly against infantry used in combination with 100mm alternating for maximum vehicle effect
    passenger 1 Engineer can do minor repair the vehicle while moving
    passenger 2 medic Can do minor heals to all vehicle passenger including himself

    Changes from previous version
    v2.5 changes

    .- deleted some textures not in use

    .- modified the Burn out materials on all vehicles( they should fade out now when they despawn)

    .- added new vehicle bmp3 ( should replace hell bender maybe? )


    v2.0 changes
    .- once you use the laser range finder, the crosshair is based and updated by the actual barrel of the vehicle
    No longer based on the camera, this makes for a more accurate sight

    .- the sight now scaled with screen resolution, before at higher resolutions the tank sight became too small
    Now the sight will stay same size no matter what resolution you use

    .- added 1 more tank m1abrams tank, now you can have t90 and a m1a2 on different teams

    .- added different sounds for Abrams an for t90

    .- commanders weapon now overheats, this is to prevent spam of the weapon and to reduce stress on server

    .- commanders gun now has a different crosshair then the original ut3 crosshair

    .- fixed weapon prediction, falling part based on distance to screen coordinates, didn’t realize before it was only
    Scaled to work on 1024x768 resolutions, the crosshair is MANUALLY tested and adjusted on different resolutions
    From 640x480 up to 1600x1200 if using anything higher then 1600x1200 the gravity adjustment will be cero
    Sorry my monitor don’t support anything higher for me to test, will add more resolutions later,
    This means that when using resolutions higher then 1600x1200 the laser range finder won’t give you a hit prediction

    .- upcoming changes , improved vehicle sounds, code optimization, and most likely APC's thinking of doing

    there are 3 types of ammo the tank has
    First one is armor penetration round if well placed it can 1 shot a enemy tank
    and also it hurts the tank driver so its possible to kill the driver with out killing the tank

    second one is explosive shell it does not penetrate armor but it is great for killing low armored or walking players

    and 3rd is the on board driver machine gun

    the tank has a second passenger seat for the commander he controls the top turret and it has zoom and is way more powerful then the
    drivers machinegun

    Forgot to mention the purpose of the Laser that's bound to the right mouse button
    it gives the correction of cross hair to the selected target, how ever if the target is moving
    the player has to move the cross hair as to LEAD the target, the laser is meant to help not do the job for you

    how ever using the laser might give away your position
    so for expert players they might want to learn not to use the laser

    this gives me an idea to add the use of entering manual ranges, but i might do that later

    Nice... now, with Randomize per factory,every Tank factory will be: a Goliath, Bio Tank, Ion Tank, Minotaur, Dispatcher or a T90! Thanks to you!
    And, why you don't tell us to put advancedarmorwarfare.upk in C:\Users\(your name)\Documents\My Games\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\Published\CookedPC\CustomVehicles?

    One thing I don't understand at all... If I wanna set the spacebar as the changeammo hotkey, I must type "set bind space ChangeAmmo" as a command ingame while I am the driver, right? Or it is "spacebar"? Any way to edit some file so I don't need to type it in every match?

    So i decided to follow up with a M1a2 Abrams Tank
    this is what i have so far, its the low poly model + it already has the
    Normal mapping, still needs the turret , texture and some normal map tweaking
    so this will look better i promise

    shape of each track link just need to find a good reference pic

    yes they can
    there are 2 ways people can use this vehicles for regular play

    one is running a mutator that replaces vehicles
    for example
    Ut3.exe server VCTF-Suspense?game=UTGameContent.UTVehicleCTFGame_Conte nt?mutator=XS_Vehicles.XSVehicles_Mutator

    another way for people to use my vehicles is to use the vehicle factory
    i included in the package

    this is for map makers, they know what a Goliath or any other vehicle factory looks like

    they simply directly add my vehicles into the map
    and no mod to replace them is required

    but the map they make must have a link or my vehicles included in the map
    otherwise the map wont have any vehicles

    for now i would recommend using a mod

    but i think since i only made 2 vehicles so far, probably people wont think its worth it to add them to ut3 normal content

    for many reasons, maybe cause it wont fit the theme of ut3
    or maybe it wont fit the game balance
    i don't know

    ill have to make more vehicles to make a whole new theme to make things more fun and balanced

    in the file there's instructions on how to use the vehicles
    as for what the vehicles actually do, ill let people figure them out

    its really not hard to figure what they can do

    Oh finally a IFV for UT3! =D

    I do hope this comes to full fruition, I cant wait to take it for a ride in game.

    Though I must ask please make this things hitpoints like a Hellbenders or slightly more when you finish the vehicle, cause there was this Lav III IVF some guy made for UT3 and it was completely ruined cause he based the things hitpoints of a damn Scorpions which makes it far to fragile for essentially a light tank and to be of any use =/

    Also how are you going to handle the 30mm auto cannon for this thing, cause it'd have to be like a large bullet/small shell, fast firing and accurate. And I haven't seen a weapon like that on a UT3 vehicle really, maybe using something like the Grenade Rovers grenade launcher attack from Ace08's Unreal Army Vehicles mutator, but make it travel in the straight line with little to no arc would work.

    Anyway enough with my rambling you've made some really to notch stuff and Ive been using your tank for a long time now and love it, esspecially the ability to swap out ammo types was really cool.

    But my fave vehicle types have to be IFVs so I'm definitely looking forward to this.

    Yeah Id say go with that AAV IFV since it does look more like the BMP3s counter, I mean the Bradleys load out and design makes it too much of a light tank that outclasses a BMP3 either way.

    Plus Bradleys are too common in games and such and I'm a bit tired of seeing them =P

    Now this vehicle I haven't seen before so I say go with this AAV and give it a chance, cause Ive never seen this in any game before.

    Also since this AAV and the BMP3 are amphibious would you be able to make them immune to UT3s water damage, or even to possibly float on water like a boat?

    still working on it , texture is very basic right now, needs work
    still haven't figured out the amount of passengers i want to put on it
    or what they should do, one idea is have them resupply their weapons ammo

    Its really turning out great and awesome, and yeah I do agree it should be able to resupply occupants inside the vehicle with a slow passive ammo regen cycle, ad maybe even slowly heal the passengers.

    As for the amount of passengers it should carry Id say no more then 4, cause remember the thing is an IFV not an APC, its made more for fighting rather then troop moving.

    this is without a doubt my most new fave vehicle!

    Haha I guess it also doesn't take damage from water I hope =P

    But now with these amphibious vehicles you're doing its gonna add a fun new dimension to water map levels.

    That is a cool idea, it'd be a really interesting and different take on vehicle gameplay by having different teammates with different weapons firing while the things moving about.

    Also would allow adapting to different roles, I think thats a cool idea I think the AAV should be able to do the same with its passengers, also I'm guessing then that passengers will be able to be hit of course while popped out like that.

    Oh doing some research into the BMP3 and AAV I found that they both have autocannons of nearly the same caliber and machine guns as their secondary weapons.

    I liked the "changeammo" feature on the T90 though I think with the BMP3 and AAV since their machine guns are in the same turret as their auto cannons.

    The driver should be able to simpily shoot the autocannon with the primary weapons fire button and the secondary fire button fires off a machine gun like the one used on the Goliath tank, all using the default left and right mouse click buttons.

    Also an autocannon converted to UT3 should pretty much would be a relatively accurate, moderate damage weapon with a medium fire rate, good range, hardly any arc over distance and should be completely capable of raping slow moving aircraft like Raptors, and lighter vehicles below the Paladin/Goliath mark.

    Since IRL they are an Anti Air and Anti light vehicle weapon rolled into one.

    So for simplicity sakes it would pretty much be the ballistic munitions equivalent of the Necris Nemesis's main weapon, minus the instant beam effect and swapped for a super fast cannon shell.

    Also when floating on water is it possible to make the BMP3 and AAV move at half speed and turning rate, much like in IRL?

    to late already coded it like that
    i got into a problem that i had to solve
    you see vehicles and weapons have
    firemode(0) and firemode(1)
    you can have what ever you want on each firemode
    be instant or projectile
    and each firemode can have its own effects and reload time
    problem was that since both count as a single weapon but different ammo
    if you have a long reload time on any of the fire modes
    you have to wait for that firemode to reload in order to fire the secondary
    fortunatly i found a workaround that

    this allowed for the primary 100mm cannon to fire each 3 seconds reload
    and the secondary 30mm cannon dosent have to wait for the reload timer on the 100mm

    this means that while you wait for the 100mm to reload to can still shoot 30mm rounds

    no i dont use red or blue colors for team
    the reason ut3 uses colors for vehicles
    is that for example both team have a Goliath or a hell bender so you make them difrent colors to know what team they belong to
    but here i am making a different vehicle for each team
    so you don't need to color them
    the vehicles are locked to the other team players
    unless they get hijacked

    how ever i will do later once i have more vehicles done
    a scheme for desert snow and camo, if i get around to it that is

    right now i am only making for all vehicles a starting desert scheme

    Oh so you mean if for example you choose with the vehicle mutator to make all Hellbenders into BMP3s and you were on the red team, then blue team will have AAVs as their Hellbender replacement, is that how it will work?

    If so thats actually pretty cool.

    Yes , the mutator i advertise to use as vehicle replacement , i did not make myself
    it won something on msuc not sure what

    it lets you pick what vehicles the red and blue team will have
    so you can go into red team and say hellbenders are bmp-3
    and blue team hellbenders are aav
