IP is actually the preferred method of banning if you really want to keep someone out. Names can be changed very quickly, and someone who stole their game can generate a new CD key without much difficulty. The beauty of a twitch game like UT3 is that people don't usually care to play with a proxy, so an IP ban will do away with most people.

Sc00rpy, both your IP and your (legit) CD-Key have been banned. You can't connect with a keygenned serial, giving it a try will result in a fail.

The admin who banned you (wasn't me in this issue) wants you to apologize first, in order for you to get unbanned again. Maybe you should stop flaming and calling everyone a n00b after every kill, "respect the other players" is one of our server rules. You can create a thread in our forum if you wish todo that, or you can just do nothing and won't get unbanned again in the near future i fear..

    Thanks for understanding,

Yes, PARADOX is right. Don't try to resolve the problem this way. Maybe look at yourself first and then try to improve your behavior. Otherwise you'll end up getting banned on other servers as well.

IP bans are useless against guys who get dynamic IPs.

We banned all his possible IP-Addresses of course, not only one... 65 025 IP's banned
An IP-range ban is the most effective ban method btw

But what if someone else gets this IP adress?
Let's say anyone (a new player) creates a new account with a new cd key and gets such an IP (one of those 65025).
How would you know that it's not Sc00rpY?
(MAC adress would be an option, but I doubt it's possible to find it out via UT3.)

I ask because I'm interested in this topic, not to help Sc00rpY to bypass his ban.

    Cheers!
