Smile Tutorials: UT3/UDK Tutorials and some superb tricks

Hi everyone. I figured i should share this with the rest of the world.

On my web site are a bunch of tutorials, anywhere from mesh building, normal maps, lighting and more.

With the new UDK released, i wrote up a Lightmass, Ambient occlusion and Emissive lighting walk through for an easy visual representation of what different functions can do.

Included in this tutorial list is the new 'mesh painting' function and i wrote a tutorial to show how it works and how you can get different effects with it, like offsetting the speed, time or direction of a pulsating light. This can be anything from a street light to a candle. One mesh, one material, thousands of uses.

I have tutorial that show other great functions this 'mesh painting' can be used for, and the power that it brings the visual side of the unreal engine. This is the 'advanced mesh painting tutorial'

Also i have a tutorial to show how you can offset a texture on the mesh based on its worlds location. This is EXTREAMLY handy for hiding repeating textures.

Here is the tutorials section of my web site.

    Hope you all enjoy.

Default Material tutorial: World Position Offset

Hey everyone. i just finished creating a tutorial on a few different ways you can use the `world position offset`node located in the material shaders. This is by no means the ONLY uses of this variable, but it`s a starting point for others to tinker around.

I don`t have a text tutorial done up for this yet, but there is a 9 minuted video tutorial on youtube, and yes, it has audio. I will be updating my web site as soon as it`s typed up.

Just wanted to say THANK YOU, your tutorials are excelent.. great to learn techniques from you.. you impressed me with the "Advanced Vertex Painting".. i was like: WHAAAAAAAT??? when i was watching demo video.. the way material reacts to painting, with all the randomness.. just amazing.. and now "World Position Offset"!!!
