Default Need help ( udk issues)

Hey guys im new to the development scene and i just barely managed to install Udk on my system, but now that its on there there are a lot of nagging issues with it the main one would be that i am unable to use any brushes this could just be down to my lack of knowledge the other would be i seriously cant find any animation programs in the install anywhere

also could someone please help me find a tutoral or guide to help me get started as at the moment im stumped

here are my specs and Install version

UDK November beta 2 Release (had an extreme head ache installing)

    Specs

    Windows Vista Ultimate 32bit
Intel pentium 4 ht this was the only system the setup would install on
    2gb DDR2
    500gb Hard drive
Ati Hd 3400 i suspected this could be an issue due to the requriement of a physx driver which led me to believe i was missing programs because i cant find the animation section or model design (again its probable this is my noob related issue

Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks

Well, looks like you need to figure out exactly what YOU want to do. It's going to be very hard for you to make anything without any knowledge of development at all. Pick something to start with (either art or programming) and learn the basics. If you decide to go the art route, there are enough parts of the engine that will help you do the programming side of things (like Kismet). If you decide to program, there is a TON of content already in the UDK that you can use.

UDK doesn't come with a modeling program so you'll have to find one. There are tons of free ones out there (Blender is one, hard to learn, but once you do, it works). You can also animate in blender...

Well i can C++ program but UDK is more of a visual interface rather than the programming side and with out being able to create with brushes im pretty limited in what i can do

"unable to use any brushes". What do you mean? No one can help you if you don't actually tell us what's going on.

What, exactly, doesn't happen that you are expecting to happen, when you do what?

Have you worked through any tutorials on level building... google it or head to YouTube. The YouTube ones may be good for you as you can see what it happening and replicate it.

    Good Luck,
    Matt.

Yes, if you're moving around in the window, MAKE SURE YOU DON'T LET GO OF THE RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON. 'W' is the hide key
