Not seeing shadows when lighting baked
I just starting with UDK and am having problem getting shadows to show up strongly after baking (with Lightmass).
if you look at the pipes coming out of the flooring, there are no shadows being cast on the floor. All the meshes are static meshes i have converted from modo and imported. The lights are set to static and the meshes are set to static layer.

I seemed to have worked around the problem. It seems that the shadows were there albeit very feint! I changed the Light Shadow Mode in the Light component from Modulated to Normal and the shadows are now dark.
With a lack of understanding, is the Modulated setting a better quality of shadow, and if so, is there a way of increasing the shadow power?
