    I don t feel ban some1 is fun (sry night). If some1 is ban it s because he laming(spawn kill,cheat ...) so it s not fun for player who are playing with him

    I simply don't have the time to play on the server every day, so sometimes there will be no admin.

    As long as no problems yet occur, I don't tax my brain with future problems.
    So if someday the server might be popular, and the presence of an admin is needed more often, I will give the admin password to trusted/known/regular players.

    Aside from that - due to experience in other games - I would prefer to solve problems with settings the game provides itself.
    Particulary spawnkilling could be prevented with an increased Spawnprotection time.

    Concerning Custom Maps:

    The server has plenty of diskspace.

    I will test custom maps on the other server, "Streichelzoo", if they're good enough, I will push them to "Bückstabü".

    Of course you're welcome to give me feedback which (custom) maps you would like on the server, and which you dislike and I should remove.

    In order not to make the "Titans on the official servers..." to our topic, we can continue our discussion here.
    I've just edited the 1st post with the newest changes.
    Every day some guys play on this server now.
    The chances are very good that it becomes a very popular server.
    I decided to change its name because its settings are almost the same as the official Epic Warfare #3 which, however, does not exist anymore.

    Some custom maps are available, too, and I will always update the 1st page with the newest map list.
    Currently we are having some small problems with TitanTeamFix, but I guess it will work soon.

    Seriously, At one point I had 70ping and no pl. Was very nice.
    Came back later, the player count was the same but I had 110 ping with LOTS of pl.
    Also the other day I was on it with only one other player and I had 160 ping (no pl). :/

    I really don't know what the problem is.
    Many players have a stable and low ping.
    Even some UK guys or guys who live neither in Germany nor in UK.
    You can use tracert in command line:

    That map is 57Mb... Nightmare, you do as you wish, but if it gets voted I'd guess 75% of all the people would leave the server waiting for it to download.

    Hitman, maybe you could make a smaller version of it by removing unnecessary stuff which doesn't affect gameplay like lightmaps (make all materials purely emissive).

    It's 20-fecking-10. If someone is too lazy to wait for 57MB they probably arent cool enough to be on a custom server anyway. Asking peoplee to lower the quality of their maps for a select amount of people is absurd.

    This select amount of people == most if not all of the pub players. Have you even been on the pubs? People play the stock maps over and over, and the pubs that have tried putting up custom maps have been emptied most of the time when they got voted. I don't care if he changes his map or not, I was trying to help him out so that people would actually play it. We both know I'd download those 57Mb in 10 seconds anyway, so I clearly wasn't talking about myself :P

    It's 2010. Not 1999. 57MB is not a large file any more. A custom map at 4MB on quake3 back in 2001 (on my 56k) would of taken me longer than a 100MB file now. tbh people are impatient and should just bloody well download the god damn files. Even nubs seem to stick around in BTA to download custom maps so warfare people should wait too. They can go make a cup of coffee or something idfk. Impatient tards.

    Just make sure it's on a fast redirect and all is good.

    My ping doesn't change much once I'm connected. It seems if I disconnect then reconnect later then ping is completely different. Each time I connect I have a different ping that varies from 70ms to 180ms, even if the server is empty.

    Once again, I am not the target audience here... The pub players (who don't read this forum) are. If you want _them_ to stay on the server, and if you want _them_ to play your maps, make 'em small. This is not BS, this is experience.

    Easy to say, hard to do. Ping/Lags depend on various things between your PC and the server. Beginning with your homenetwork, ISP, ISP Backbone etc. ending at the server.
    I will monitor the server's load and used bandwith, but if it's as low as I suspect, I'm afraid I can do nothing to lower your ping.

    Please try to ping the server manually to see if it's a problem on application layer or on lower layers.

    Once we have a nice selection of custom maps I will try to upload a map pack.
    Then I can post the URL in game.
    Players can download it while playing which isn't possible if they do it in game.

    However, it really depends on the players' connection and their will.
    WAR-Colloseum is around 100 mb and it took me less than 1 minute to download it.
    Anyway downloading a map is much more better than downloading in game.
    Let's see

    Another thing:
    There is a mutator that prevents from voting the same map again and again.
    You vote Downtown and you cannot vote it for the other 4 matches (as example.)
    I had the thought but I think it would be a bit unfair to players who come late.
    Some guy wants to play Downtown but he has to wait for the 5th match.
    It's the players' choice and if they vote Downtown every 3rd match it's dumb but still their choice.

    Correct. The problem is only on this server. I'll try to ping it once per hour and give you the results.

    @night n zauberpony : start with 2 custom maps(not very big) and keep them on the server for 2-3 weeks.In that time most of the guys playing in the server will have them and you will also see if they are popular enough(if not , remove em). After that you can add 2 more n so on.

    I'd recommend not to add customs though till the server gets popular. One step at a time.

    Good advice to be honest.
    However, we've already added some maps.
    I guess until tomorrow we have around 13 custom maps.
    We can see if it makes sense or if players leave the server quickly when a custom map wins the vote.
    As said I will also try to make a pack and post it both in forums and in game.

    We will probably test GOW Justice tomorrow since TTF does not work.
    I don't know if GOW Justice balances the teams in the middle of a match.
    Would be a pity if not...

    Ping was good today. Just wish the stinger wasn't in it. I swear that's all I got killed by... stinger spam. Reason I like flux is due to no vehicles, but I've never played it in a pub before. It was just stinger spam and nothing else. I'm going to yell at Cr4zy about it.

    I'm sure some people will defend that vile weapon. So let me get in first.
    I took a notepad and a pen and wrote down all my deaths during one round on a public server today:
    Stinger (primary): 3
    Flak (primary): 1
    Link (primary): 1
    Sniper: 1
    Vehicles: 14
    Titans: 7 (ew)
    As you can see Stinger killed me the most. This isn't counting the times I was drained down to 10hp by them.


    Anyway. I should try not get get off topic. I'd like to see NO-Stinger mutator votable but I guess it's really up to the majority.

    To be honest:
    Even I, as a NON-Stinger fan, would never support such a mod for this server.
    I'll tell you why:
    Firstly I like Stinger secondary fire.
    It's very effective both against vehicles (Mantas) and enemies who are on foot.
    Of course it requires more skill and sometimes I shoot at an enemy but can't hit him one time.
    Other times I quickly kill someone.
    I do not use Stinger's primary as a main weapon against an enemy.
    However, against vehicles I often use it.
    Long story short (regarding to this text block):
    Removing this weapon is not a good solution.

    Another thing:
    In my opinion this mutator only makes sense for vCTF and open maps.
    Example: ArenaOfDeath.
    You take the flag and 5 guys constantly shoot with their Stingers - and of course Primary fire - at you.
    It's only necessary to take down one guy who has the flag.
    In Warfare it is really not a big deal.
    Even if you have the orb it's not that serious (in my opinion.)

    I'm not 100% sure but I think this mutator also replaces all Stinger spawns with Enforcer spawns.
    That means almost everyone will have 2 Enforcers.
    This annoys me much more!

    As said:
    I can truly say I hardly believe such a mutator will ever be on this server.

    Indeed I don't see the point of replacing stinger with duel enforcer, that makes no sense. I still think Stinger is **** for warfare though. DM environment it's no problem, you can retreat around a corner and a stinger nub will chase you only to be greeted be you doing a combo or triprox wall-dodge. In Warfare you have no where to run and wasting time doing such things will only hurt the team's progress. Oh well. Time to try to get better with head shots I guess :d

    Yes, it was snowing and everything is white now although it does not look bad... but it freaks me out!

    The problem is that there are plenty of Stinger fans and they will complain.
    Even I will complain when I cannot shoot down an enemy Raptor as quickly as before.
    We have to deal with it, and I must say it's not approximately that annoying as in vCTF.

    I've updated the first page of this thread again.
    TitanTeamFix is completely removed and we will test GOW Justice soon.
    Furthermore I've added a full map list.
    (13 custom maps.)
    I will try to make a descent pack soon.
    Although players have the chance to download maps in game very fast, it's not wrong to make a pack and post it here in forums and in game anyway.

    I think 13 custom maps are enough now.
    Drunken is right that we should be sure that players have all those maps instead of uploading tons of maps that no one has.

    Okay, I've just edited the main post.
    Yesterday I created a map pack.
    You can now download all custom maps.
    Furthermore I made a small site with some screenshots.
    Just check them out^^

    Today we had 20 or even 22 guys playing and everything was fine.
    However, then we suddenly got some weird lags.
    Zauberpony said it seems to be no server problem (ram, cpu, etc. was okay.)
    Let's see if there will be something like this again, but I don't hope it.

    Good question, I will think about it and I will ask Zauberpony.
    We can set the spawn protection time higher.
    Around 3 or even more seconds sound fair.
    I think we will set the rule that there won't be any spidermines near spawn zones.
    I believe Spawnkilling is a more dangerous problem on Titan servers.
    Since this server does not use this mod, it's not that difficult to shoot down a spawnkiller.

    And I will think about the SPMA, tanks and more...

    So far:
    Spawnkilling only on foot sounds fair to me.

    Spawn protection time is now 4 seconds, not 2 seconds (standard).
    4 seconds could be enough to get rid of most spawnkillers.

    We'll think about the mines, though.
    But keep in mind that an admin cannot always be there.
    (It's not Multiplay.)
    So I cannot promise that the mine-basing will be stopped, but the spawn protection time will always work and should help a lot.

    spawn kill on foot is not fair the spawn killer ve most of the time all weapon he needs and some equipement (shield or boot) and most of the time the guy spwning can t see the spawn killer
    I m ok if it s an accident but not if it s make intentionely and repeated =(

    Hm but that's the way UT works, Pemp.
    And usually such a guy cannot survive long.
    Furthermore while he's wasting his time with spawnkilling his team could be needing him.
    And look: You have 4 seconds to get weapons (you already have them anyway) or a vehicle.
    And you can shoot him without being damaged by him.

    It will be difficult to handle it manually.
    The easiest thing is the spawn-protection time.

    P.S. On Epic #2 there are no rules and the protection time is 2 seconds I guess.

    Although I've already said via WebAdmin that we are currently not interested in uploading more custom maps, you can write your favorite custom maps here.
    (But please check the 1st post first to see if they are already uploaded.)

    There is still this small lag issue that randomly appears and it's in my opinion the most important thing that has to be solved.
    If once everything is solved and the server runs as well as today, I see no problem to upload more maps and Zauberpony (the owner) told me there is a lot of free space.

    Until then, I will check the maps you've suggested.
