    Question Generate maps automatically

    Do you guys have experience on creating the wireframe from an external source, geographical data in this case? Creating the map manually is not practical, it's huge and would never be accurate. And I'm not even talking about "a map", but a method of creating a "flyby" for any location, including underwater.

    Is that even possibe to do? I don't have a clue ...

    Somebody did huge mountain for Ut3 from google maps or some heightmap data.

    Ty, that's exactly what I have in mind And I remember that heightmaps were mentioned too.

    Well you can apply heightmaps to terrain but -- that will get you the terrain... there's much more to a map than the terrain.

    Oh yes But that's the part that must be accurate. The rest tends to change, like water level and sun exposure in the winter, wind speed, vegetation color and density, etc...
