    Default 136 Street(Single Player)

Very excited to be here again buds to share what I've been working on over the week. My motive for 136 Street derive from viewing old films such as The Warriors, thus developing a goal to essentially create a Suburb/Urban environment that resembles what New York was like in the 1970s-1980s when the time period was erroneous for families/communities, unfortunately. The challenge was to capture that level of detail and mood with the current tools available. More importantly I'm aware the community admires play-through for single-player, so certainly I constructed something quite neat for you buds for a thrilling experience.

    Setting & Plot

City residents has numerously reported abnormal activities in the city. Recent report has linked to a residential area just east from the borough of Manhavven near the East River. The Coalition of Ordered Governments, however, suspects Locust. Marcus Fenix(You) and Baird are sent into the area to investigate any clues of Locust connections. Good luck Soldiers...

    Enjoy buds.

Hey there, if you own Gears for the PC then follow these steps.

Taking into account if you downloaded the file, simply extract the file. Next, Place the 136st.war file in your C:\Documents and Settings\YOURNAME\My Documents\My Games\Gears of War for Windows\WarGame\Published\CookedPC\Maps\CustomMaps

Once finish, launch Gears and while at the menu screen, open the console command (`) and type into the console open sp_136st

I've played your map. I like the layout & the design of it. so gratz for what you've done in a week. all your map is lacking is playtesting.

There are too many locust attack at the beginning. I died in 5 mins lol. It would be better if you had waves of locust. When you kill of or shut one hole, another one opens.

The next thing is cover. There wasn't much. The locust could attack easy whereever you are. Add some more cars or something. Another thing is testing your cover you already set up. I couldnt shoot out from some of the covers.

I like to see more weapons placed in the map, I didn't see any. Because of the size of the map snipers would work well.

As I said at the beginning. I like the map layout. I think it would make a good MP map or Lance map.

Thanks for the feedback Krisirk. Though I'm aware of some inner flaws, I really wanted to release something out there in a short amount of time, due to I was really thinking about moving into a different editor maybe the UDK for more stability in creating

Excellent work, like Ravendown, but with stairs.

    Love the cereal.

    Thumbs up

Finally played it, nice map, similar to Ravendown , i think it needs more light espacially under the center area bridge, too dark there,
but very nice detail and urban layout, reminds me GTA 4, maybe complete the construction in the second floor rail station wil be bettter.
Gameplay is great, the map optimized really well, The locusts are not too many, but the dark wretches at last are too many, after you kill all wretches, no enemy at all, game over.

And i really love the battle music, one of the best i ever heard, never heard it in gears, i hope this music can be added to more maps, and can you make this great music into a standalone mp3 or wave file for download?..

So finally i hope you can make this level more bright and totallly into Horde mode, waves after waves of locusts coming, more cover spot and cover objects added in street, more types of locusts and unlimited waves no doubt, so we can play as long as we can, you see sp is really short, we just want more longer battle like this , thx man!!!...
i edit the pic to make it more bright. ..

Sorry for not responding to this sooner. Indeed thanks for the feedback Darksin. The name of the track credits can be found in the readme, however the full tracks are available for purchase on itunes bud.

I do have good news, while I may not be working on an updated version of 136st, however Peril is currently being updated and also to see if I can make it support co-op for friends
