    Question UDK UT3 stuff

Since the demo of ut3 is included in the udk does that mean we can use some of the texture/meshes from that demo in a retail game built on that engine aswell, without copyright issues or anything?

Yes, for as long as you do not commercially publish your game.
Otherwise the people at epic won't allow you to use assets (code is fine).

I'd say anything that comes in the UDK installer download is okay to use. If not then anyone wanting to sell their game would have to scrub it clean of all those included assets. Doing so after the product is complete is not a trivial task, and starting in a clean room stifles development, especially in teams with limited art talent.

    We need an official statement.

As far as what Epic has said so far, you cannot distribute any Epic created assets with a commercial game.

You cannot use Epic owned assets in a commercial mod. Use of Epic's code in a commercial mod is not restricted.

Okay, thanks for clearing that up.
