A very, very, very horrible surprise.

Gears of War 2 is a different game from one match to the next, the interesting connection actually adds something to the game.

40+ games of annex without ever being host. Too funny.
I don't mind a game with a good connection. Hell, I'm happy if my guy doesn't have to jump over every wall twice What doesn't fly is when someone who bridges says, "but I'm being so nice because I got this great connection and people love me for it and NEVER complain." But then fails to finish with, "and, oh yeah, my shotty shoots nuclear tipped pellets that will blow you away poorly aimed AFTER you've put 2 or 3 point blank shots into me.
OK, I exagerate a bit, but you get it. Everyone knows host is a huge advantage no matter the connection. And since this is the approach that EPIC chose, the only way to make it "fair and in the spirit of competition," is to give everyone equal opportunity to be host. Bridging goes against this.
It is the equivalent of a restrictor plate NASCAR race where one driver never has to use the restrictor plate.
So bridge if you must because your fragile sense of self and insecurities demand that your rank help define you, but don't go gettin' all sanctimonious pretending that you're doing anyone a favor. No one bridges out of the good of their heart. They bridge because host is advantage, and a huge one at that.
