GOW3 Big concept
Matchmaking
Type 1
Currently, GOW2 uses the simple matchmaking system, contrary to what was the first chapter of the series, which instead used the system of lobbying, but without allowing the organization of specific groups. My idea includes both systems: matchmaking + lobby.
Another limitation of GOW2 are the choices that can be made by the player. In the multiplayer menu you can choose between public, private, local, etc ... and up to here we are. The choice is rather limited in choosing the various game modes and maps. The intention of the developers, I think, is to put less playlist not possible to scatter the people. But for a title like GOW is difficult to be dispersed, which is always seen in 4th position in the ranking of the games played on LIVE.
Public matches
In my concept are three items:
Gametype - This is a list where you can choose different gamemodes, with the specific players involved.
Maps - This is a list where you can select the group of maps on which to play and then search.
Search type - is the kind of research. You can find lots created by a host games created on a server, quick access to a game (player host or server and without connection information. In addition to these components must begin this type of research places the players have started games in which one or plus players are out), and host a game.
Public matches – Host search
Using this type of search the game find the matches…:
1 - The quality is not less than 0.25 Mbps, and the ping is in the range 0 ~ 300ms
2 - What has not been "reserved" (this system is explained below)
3 - What can hold the whole group (if you're on 5, the game must find 5 free slots and that they are a faction. The game can not scatter the group between Locust and COG)
At this point I see the search results displays on my screen:
Host gamertag - The host gamertag who create the game
Nation - That the nation is located in the host. Detection is carried over IP. If the database that is dealing with it is not possible to process the IP, then the nationality given is that which results in the user profile and made directly from Xbox Live.
Quality - represents the quality of the connection: Green (0.60 mbps +), Yellow (0.35 ~ 0.50mbps), Red (0.25 ~ 0.35mbps)
Player - Indicates the number of players present the game in the lobby waiting for other players.
Now the creator of the group can "reserve slot" (pressing A button) for a maximum of 3 matches in which to participate.
What does mean ”reserve”?
Upon selection of a particular host, the system calculates for all the group members the ping to the host and this displayed on the screen: green (0 to 100ms), yellow (from 100ms to 175ms), Red (from 175ms to 300ms) .
The creator of the group must assess the best game to attend. Therefore we reserve the slots, but maximum in 3 games.
Evaluate on what to enter, simply press START to join.
Public matches – Server search
Using this type of search the game find the matches…:
1 - The quality is not less than 0.25 Mbps, and the ping is in the range 0 ~ 300ms

3 - What can hold the whole group (if you're on 5, the game must find 5 free slots and that they are a faction. The game can not scatter the group between Locust and COG)
At this point I see the search results displays on my screen:
Server area - The location of the server
Gamertag - The gamertag of the person who created the game on the server.
Quality - represents the quality of the connection to the server: Green (good and high performance server), Yellow (server good but not excellent), Red (server required too much or too distant)
Player - Indicates the number of players present the game in the lobby waiting for other players.
Now the creator of the group can "reserve slot" (pressing A button) for a maximum of 3 matches in which to participate. Is the same system describedin “Public match – Host search”.
Evaluate on what to enter, simply press START to join.
Public matches – Quick game search
This search system is indicated for those play alone, which lacks a group. The game connects the player or players to the first game available for the chosen mode, either via host or via server, whether it is to start or already started. This system also allows immediate replacement of one or plus players who have quit the game. Otherwise uses the bot, already included in GOW2.
Public matches – Host a game
Using this system, the creator of the group is the host of the game. Through special menu, you can choose the following options:
Type of matches - Public or private
Connection - Use your connection as a host or choose a server
Game Type - Actually the settings are those already decided by the creator at the start, but can be changed, either type of game that the group of maps
Quality - The system calculates whether the connection is acceptable and therefore the game can be "published".
At the bottom are present with the appropriate symbol for the connection to the players present in the room.
Pressing A will publish the game, press B you edit the various options.
Private matches – Host search
Using this type of search the game find the matches…:
1 - The quality is not less than 0.25 Mbps, and the ping is in the range 0 ~ 300ms
2 - What has not been "reserved" (this system is explained below)
3 - What can hold the whole group (in private, the system can also choose to scatter the team when is needed)

Game Type - Actually the settings are those already decided by the creator at the start, but can be changed, either type of game that the group of maps
Map - In private you can also choose a specific map and also the variations Day / Night and Rain / Cloudy / Overcast/ etc…
Maps cycle - Yes or no
Weapons cycle - yes or no
Friendly fire - yes or no
Quality - The system calculates whether the connection is acceptable and therefore the game can be "published". If it is only open to friends, the system does not calculate anything, because the game is not published for everyone.
At the bottom are present with the appropriate symbol for the connection to the players present in the room.
Pressing A will publish the game, press B you edit the various options.
Type 2 This second concept of GOW3 includes the lobby system in a simplistic form.
Public matches
During the search for matches, the game selects a fortnight matches have a ping less than 300ms and have a band of not less than 0.25 to upload. At this point the game asked if the player wants to enter this room or go to the next. Of course the game also calculates all the other members of the ping to assess what is the best room.

Other Options
- In the menu you can access during a game, there is the option "Quit game" but this leads to a punishment, or the deduction of 500 experience points for each weapon / executions of XP General, and then - 0.5% skills in all areas. (explanation below)
- For the host, but only in private, there is an option that allows you to kick a player from the game. For being kicked need that the other players approve it. This then can no longer fall within the current game.
- In the main menu in Settings, you can access the menu for private matches where you can set the weapons to your liking and save the settings before you create the room.
- If the connection quality deteriorates, as in GOW1, the player is warned with a notice informing him of the deterioration, allowing him to leave, without incurring any penalty, and even recording all the points hitherto made.
- If the host leaves or the server is dropped, all data are recorded in the game, including points. This does not happen if you choose to leave voluntarily through the regular menu.
