NOVEMBER 6TH GEARSIVERSARY TOURNAMENT

*Due to mass number of dropouts,any team who doesn't have a player present at that time get's an insane bot. You can invite any friend on the day of the tournament.

Inspiration:

My inspiration to do the tournament was from the forum member OrtanaIV. He has created the highly successful Snowblind Map pack tournament & Dark Corners Wingman tournament and also o_JoRdO_xX who created the successful Cog Vs. Locust tournament. I would like to thank them for that This tournament is on November 1st because it's the one year anniversary of Gears of War 2, what better way than a tournament.

How it will work:

There will be 16 teams of 4 players each. 16 x 4 so that's 64 players to participate in the tournament. 12 hosts will be needed for the fifth slot in the match; sign ups for the hosts will be soon followed by sign ups for the players. You will play Guardian/Warzone/Execution/KOTH/SUBMISSION/ANNEX on the Original Maps + flashback maps to celebrate the Gears Anniversary. Participates will be notified every week leading up to the tournament via Xbox LIVE.

• You will need to have a GOLD membership for Xbox LIVE.
• You will need to have the Flashback Multiplayer Map pack.
• A Epic forums account - If you want to bring a friend that is fine but if you win a prize you need to send me his details.

What you do on tournament day.

On Tournament day it is normal for the players and hosts to be confused about what to do when the day arrives. So here's a little planner i've got here to help. This is for the hosts and players to follow. If you bring a friend whos not registered on the forums then make sure he reads this before participating in the event.

Before you start the tournament :

Before your first match: Make sure you set your status to Offline over XBL. Go to the Xbox Guide (by pressing the X button in the center of your controller.) Go to the tab about your settings (where you can edit your gamerpic and other stuff) and select preferences. Select Online Status. Select Offline. This prevents randoms from joining Private Matches. Thanks.

No Party Chats: Any group of players who create a Party Chat during the Tournament will be banned. This gives Players an Advantage over others, and it's not fair.

Guide for Host's

The Rules for the Host are as follows:
Step 1: Check out your Match Card in the Tournament Tree and find out the Gamertags of all players who will be participating in your match.
Step 2: Upon turning on your 360 and inserting Gears 2, you will now be required to set your Status to Offline (more info in Post 1, under the Updates Section), so that randoms don't join your game. Then set up a Private Match with the following Rules:
* 3 4 minute rounds
* Friendly Fire OFF.
* Custom Weapon Swaps. (More Info bottom of this post)
Step 3: Once that's done invite the Gamertags you saw while performing Step 1. If they refuse to join your game send them a message informing them that it's for the Tournament.
Step 4: Host the Match. Make sure you hold a Smoke Grenade while you stand still so that people are aware you're the Host. Hide if necessary, if players think your a enemy this may hold things up.
Step 5: At the end of the match, report the Team that won and they will progress to the next round.
Step 6: Await a message from me determining if you will Host the 2nd Round Match. For that round we'll only need 4 Hosts instead of 8, so only the 4 with the best connections will Remain. The Hosts that're no longer needed will be thanked and receive their prize.
Step 7: If you're still hosting, invite the Gamertags that I send to you in a Message for the 2nd Round Match.
Step 8: Repeat Steps 4-7 throughout the Course of the Tournament, except for the Next Round.
Step 9: For Guardian, If the host is selected Guardian then he and the other leader must kill themselves. The players except for 1 from each team must kill themselves and the round will stalemate.

Guide for players :

The rules for the Player are as follows.
Step 1: Check out the first post in this Thread and look at the Tournament Tree. Find your Match Card and look at who your Host is.
Step 2: Upon turning on your 360 and inserting Gears 2, you will now be required to set your Status to Offline (more info in Post 1, under the Updates Section), so that randoms don't join the game as it goes.
Step 3: Await an Invite from your Host. Accept it. While in the Lobby, get acquainted with your Teammates and prepare yourself. If your teammates isn't accepting the Host's invite, try to be helpful and send them a message telling them to join the Tournament Match.
Step 4: Wait for the Match to Start. For Guardian - If the host is acquainted the role of Guardian you must kill yourself (or be the last one alive with the other teammate) after the host does. Your own team including (or except) will killselves too. Same for the enemy team so it's all fair
Step 5: Once the match is over, await another Game Invite. It'll most likely be an invite from another Host, who's inviting you to the Second Round Match. There is a possibility you'll keep the same Host for Round 2. If that's the case, he'll let you know.
Step 6: Repeat Step 4.
Step 7: If you advance you may receive an invite from another Host again, for the 3rd Round Match. This will also apply for the Final Round (Round 4) Match. Enjoy yourself.
