    Default GOW1 PC stutters

I can play a SP map and it runs perfect. But if i play the campaign it stutters so bad quite often it is sometimes unplayable. It actually is more like freezing. While stuttering is like a bunch of quick freezes and releases, this actually freezes the screen for up to a 3 or 4 seconds and occasionally freezes completely and i have to hit the restart button. I have reintalled the game and added all the patches i could find to no avail.

So i think i need to do a clean uninstall. If anyone can tell me how i could do that and which patches are necassary and which might be problematic maybe that will help. Or if anyone knows what it is that causes this, that would be even better. Thanks.

No virus apps or any of that. I'll update the drives, tho i don't think thats it for a number of reasons. But to be safe...

This is an old issue that has plagued numerous users of the PC version. Try lowering the settings, resolution and turn off DX10/AA (DX 10 does nothing but slows the game down). BTW, it's become 'normal' for temporary stuttering to occur when you reach a checkpoint/savepoint.

I'll try turning off AA if it's on, (no DX10....using XP) but the thing is that it never did this before and i didn't change the settings.
